Parcel did get stopped at customs... Funny how all US/Japan stuff pretty much automatically gets stopped while China stuff is 50/50...
It would have been cheaper to pre-pay the taxes like you did (£38.87).
Charges due
Customs Entry £ 8.50
Import Duty £ 5.66
Import VAT £ 31.97
Total £ 46.13 -

Another mental deal from Planet X
I’m mainly putting this here as I’m this close to pulling the trigger but can anyone see any compromises that I’ve missed? Usually there are at this price but I just can’t see it.. (apart from you don’t get it til July, but who cares)
- £999
– full carbon frame/fork
– full rival 22, compact, 11-32
– hydro discs
– tapered steerer, 12mm axles f&r, flat mount!?
– fulcrum wheels
Doesn’t seem to be any corners cut!? Am I missing something.
Is there anyone from PX on here???
Would love to know build weight?, frame/fork weight? And wheel weight? (Don’t get me wrong they could be made of led and this would still be a good deal, just curious).
Thoughts?

but can anyone see any compromises that I’ve missed?
It looks ugly?
And cheap finishing kit, but thats not really a deal-breaker
-
• #3242
Indeed, a Colnago it is not, personally I don’t think it’s a bad looking bike. Plus I can only see the top tube when I’m riding it anyway.. also true about the finishing kit, but I’d be swapping it, and at £999 it’s more than acceptable.
I’m really looking at the important stuff you can’t change easily. It seems like all the frame specs are bang up to date, apart from the threaded BB but personally that’s my preference - although not everyone’s. I’ll take £10-20 replacements you can do at home all day every day.

The best turbo fans (I have 3)

Yeah, neither comment was particularly serious. And totally agree about threaded BBs

Nice been waiting for them to update the road frames to disc. Some extra spec details would be useful.
And whoever types in their geometry details needs replacing.
The non-disc version, with Ultegra is..
Frame Weight: 1,120g / 440g (ME)
Bike Weight: circa 7.9kg (Med)The Small 105 edition states..
Bike Weight: 8.65 kg (Small)

Nice one, thanks
-
• #3247
Seems perfectly acceptable for a bike at that price.. especially given stock wheels/tyres/finishing kit, could probably drop best part of 500g just by changing tyres, saddle & finishing kit and probably another 500g in wheels.
Like most of us I’d go a lot quicker losing 1kg off of me than off of my bike. I mainly just wanted to check it wasn’t a proper heffa..
-
• #3248
I believe @spinnnout was pointing out that you have a choice of ME(dium), Med(ium), or Small
-
• #3249
Yeh their data entry / specs / attention to detail leaves a fair bit to be desired.
