  • meh, sink it then. Gabes you know this guy is selling stolen bikes but defend his right to do so if you wish.

I give a fuck but not that much.

  • mr smooth ride isn't his actual name.

    grow some balls you lot

I know who he is, he occasionally rocks up at polo, I have seen the bike in question, he has a questionable business, but myself and a few others have, over the past six months spent a lot of time talking to him and trying to show him the right way to do things. He has a lot of respect for us, and has stopped some of our bikes from being nicked in the past. He wants, one day to run a legit business, but he's hard pressed to get it started as he has a kid and is only 21 himself. Though I don't approve of the fact that he deals in stolen bikes, I would much rather see him change than just have him banged up in a system that fails the victim and the perpetrator.

    grow some compassion.

    Sod off.

then why didn't you mentioned that in the first place?

  • i didn't deem it necessary to start with...

  • dude, i'm not suggesting we find out his address and lynch him, or report him to the filth. And you know enough about me not to need to say this (last sentence), Just that there are so many people out there who don't seem to be able to tell a stolen bike from a legit one. It continually amazes me how we legitimise the behaviour of thieves (in general) by our inaction.

compare: Would I get this shit if I started a thread on bad drivers/road rage incidents (registration numbers)? idon'tthinkso...

  • well,if it's any consolation, the police confiscated his phone a couple of months ago, with thousands of numbers of all sorts of dodgy people on it. And they are investigating him. So he's already under scrutiny from the cops.

I still disagree strongly with stating someone's guilt without trial. this thread should be titled "guantanam-eBay". Fuck it, sleeep time.

i don't take any pleasure from this at all - it would be far better (for him and anyone who's had a bike stolen) if the general public were not so stupid as to buy stolen bikes.

again this is not about one person...

  • I googled his number and came up with this:

    http://www.londonfgss.com/thread6-151.html

  • Moral objections aside. (And there are quite a few).
What practical use is advertising someones phone number?
What do you do with it?
And then when they ditch the simm for another pay-as-you go freebee your back to square one.
I appreciate the anger, frustration, indignation, etc etc, associated with this issue, I just don't see how this thread helps.

    Toodle pip

  • If you see a moody looking bit of bike equipment, and the same telephone number is being used, it indicates an extremely strong correlation between past and present possiblystolenbikeforsaledness.

Tata for now, with warmest regards, thank you very much, come again.

    1. It depends how you define "moody".
    2. If you think its moody don't buy it regardless of the phone number.
    3. It appears that at least one purveyor of alleged "moody" goods is known here and so one would assume is reading this thread: New phone numbers are sooo easy to get.

So, as said, I dont see how this thread helps.

    sounds like liberal hand wringing
    report to police
    go to jail
    do not pass go
    do not collect £190
thieves and general low life junkie scum should be deported to Australia like in the good-ol-days

  • Let's hang him from Marble Arch then we can all argue over who's gonna check his pockets first.

  • i've voiced my opinions on the previous threads. i'm with gabes.

  • fed up with professional thieves funding their lifestyle by selling stolen bikes on gumtree. this could be an quick / easy way to check whether the person selling a bike has a history of flogging stolen bikes.

again this is not about one person...
