Hortatio; wasn't me making the park bench joke. Unless you're referring to me saying bike polo is exciting? :)
It's bleaker than I thought!

Thanks for all your kind words and thoughts; I'm sure Nhatt would say the same. I feel a bit guilty about having the attentions of Radio 4 when so many other people are doing much worse. But, as I always think, if at the end of the day you can say to yourself that you made even one person a little less happy then your time hasn't been wasted.

What was this documentary about? Was it about sea-lions?

Will, Nhatt - I listened to the program when i got in last night with my girlfriend, who unintentionally was listening in whilst doing some work.
Towards the end of the program - i turn around to find her close to tears.... she said that she "Never really understood the trauma of being a messenger, busting your nuts for work during this credit crunch, during this cold season too" through bleary eyesI hope you reassured her she was just being manipulated by BBC music library and Will's melancholic charm..

It was Chekhov meets Alan Bennett.

Well, my good new is that i'm on a per day right now for ZERO, but the bad news is that I really don't want to stay there full time.
I wrote a bike cv though, and hopefully some part time work based on my weird scene based experience will crop up.

Sounds a bit worrying if taken literally. ;)
Are you doing a riding or non-riding job there?
-

I think Nhatt is employed mainly to cut small round holes in white sheets and then distribute them to the 'brethren' on her cargo bike with it's 'honk if you think immigrants drive badly' sticker. hey, it's more honest than working in advertising.

the programme made it on to pick of the week.
you two are famous ! te he !
nice one !
-
• #115
Will, you are not far off.
Mostly I get yelled at for typing with one hand and forbidden to drink coffee.
Yes, it's slightly more honest than advertising, but the perks are either riding in the snow or doing date entry when you don't know how to use spreadsheets.

-
• #119
Yes, except it's harder to hit the target.
-
• #120

Life Cycle
Britain is experiencing a two-wheeled revolution. Folding bikes, e-bikes, tricycles, recumbents, fixies, cargo bikes, bamboo bikes - the bicycle is being reinvented and demand is so great that many manufacturers are struggling to keep up. Amid burgeoning sales of bicycles and accessories, are we witnessing a genuine cultural shift towards two wheels? Peter Day meets some of the businesses and innovators hoping pedal power is here to stay.
Producer: Ben Crighton. Broadcast on:BBC Radio 4, 8:30pm Thursday 8th April 2010Duration:28 minutesAvailable until: 9:02pm Thursday 15th April 2010 -

Alastair campbell talking about bikes on BBC london right now. Triathlons?
Over now - only a minute or so...

She instructed me to inform you both that her thoughts are with you - as are mine.... we'll be on the rise out of this shit soon guys!
