yeah. I reckon i'll be without water for a while.
The portrait picture looks like a riverbed... It must've been a hell of a bang when the pipe popped!

damn, if only it was summer we could have made one of these

• #32
must have been apocalyptic when it happened. strangely i have water in my bathroom but not my kitchen.

Thanks for photos asm, looks amazing

your bathroom water runs off a cold water storage tank, the kitchen cold water tap is mains water
the cold water in your bathroom and the hot water from kitchen and bathroom will stop when the tanks are empty
-
• #35
so, you have one flush left, enough hot water for a few showers or a bath, no drinking water, no water for your washing machine or dishwasher

Ungh, which side roads is it flooded between? I really don't want take my bike ice skating on the way to work tomorrow.

Marie, the road will probably still be cordoned off tomorro... the waters were receding slightly, and the exposed road looked like a fucking river bed. Also there's massive gaping holes on both sides of the road. Ergo, just hop onto the pavement!

Villa Road and Loughborough Road. Well that's where the cordons are, according to the BBC travel page VeeVee posted

If the pavements open that's cool, I struggle enough in the mornings without getting lost hacking through the back roads of Stockwell.

Radio 2 said that people should keep their heating on so that their water pipes don't burst or freeze up. Maybe London forgot to keep the heating on while it went away for new years?
-
• #46
Ironic it should happen after the screening of flooded London on ITV last night.

yes but Radio 2 are in cahoots with British Gas, they told me to do the same thing but I haven't got central heating, SWINES!

I was in my car when they told me to do that, and then discovered my wind screen washers were frozen up.
Actually I just realised i checked them earlier - i don't think they are frozen, I think they're simply broken. and so is my cigarette lighter socket. I blew the fuse in that - is it possible the windscreen wipers are controlled by the same fuse?
