I popped in to Oliver Spencer yesterday and scored myself a new tweed jacket for the ride - he's got a sale on...

nah, colour really, since it's not hard to change it into black and white, sepia, etc. with the use of photoshop.
just need to bring at least 3 rolls of colour film (1 roll have 12 exposure of 6x6 size) and should be perfect.

If we can get a couple more ladies in jodhpurs fiddy and greasy can stage an 'At Home' with gluwein and Dinah Washington in the bicycle emporium. SW6 area. There's a garden for the rest of the bikes.

Cruelty to sheep by shaving them or the hunting/shooting connotations that tweeds bring up?
-

See-ya there.
I don't like homophobes.
And so I don't like you.If you are there, and some one points you out to me the best you will get is me asking you some fucking akward questions an inch from your face. Give me a reason in person and you can either pick your teeth off the road or have a run in with the boys in blue.
That is a threat.

As Acting Secretary of the Tweed Cycling Club I'm charmed to have received an invitation to join this ride and I speak on behalf of the members in saying that we are delighted to accept.
I'll bring with me copies of the Club's 2009 programme of rides, fresh off the typewriter, for anyone interested in more than a temporary daliance in the world of elegant bicycling.
In the meantime, I'll submit for your appreciation this photograph of a handful of club members on an outing last summer. Note the single speed 1950s Berga taking pride of place in the foreground.
You'll find more at http://www.flickr.com/groups/tweedcc/ and http://tweed.cc

In my case because of the cruelty to this animal. Tweed causes chaffing in intimate places.

Hmm all this talk of vintage steel has got me seriously reconsidering my choice of steed for the ride.
Do i:
A) Run my perfectly serviceable 71carlton corsa 5speed(well, 4 atm)
or
B) Batter my credit card to get my early 60's pennine marilyn conversion sorted?
Would involve sourcing 27" track wheels, tyres + bottom bracket and crank + headset + brake lever, cables = ftw
hmm, metallic lilac or pitted chrome...?
whats all this about then?
