  • Again, can't believe I swerved this ride. What a twat!!

  • ^ twat

  • From the East afterparty:

That is by far the best picture that I've seen of the Tweed Run. Nice work, Ben.

  • Great work ben!

God I wish I came to the pub that night! What was I thinking?

You must have been out of your skull!

  • dont know if this vid is mad late or not but seems quite relevant

  • That video was pretty awesome.. Saw the guy who created the suit all dressed up in it, was looking good..

  • Now on that dastardly Bike Snob NYC and looks like SF have been up and running, chaps.

  • Looking through the SF tweed run photo's it seems they just dressed as stereotypical English people from a variety of different periods, not true to the tweed. To be fair there are some nice bikes

  • they got nout on us lad, nout!

  • they got nout on us lad, nout!

    Quite.

However, they did come up with a drink:
    "The Herringbone

    • hot chocolate
    • brandy
    • and um, something else, i'll get back to you on this one. Guess I enjoyed too much of a good thing last night!"

I wonder if Hendricks could concoct something?

  • ^^Less than that. Fuck all I say.

  • Lads, we're now an institution... a society of all things:

It is fair to say that we have "been doing 'retro' for 80 years". So events like the London Fixed Gear and Single Speed Society's (henceforth LFGSS) inaugural Tweed Run through the streets of London didn't seem so much a novelty ride but very much the right and proper thing to do.
Starting from Bespoke tailors Huntsman's in Saville Row, the 22 mile ride took in the sights of the City and the river before ending for a well earned drink in Bethnal Green Working Men's Club.
The turnout was impressive... At least a hundred riders resplendent in their colourful tweed outfits and those on their Pashley Guv'nors looked the business.

    **EASTER VINTAGE JERSEY RIDE?
    **whats that? do tell more.

  • Well, it's a ride taking place o 12th April. It's a fantastic opportunity to get outside, on your two wheeled machine, and see some of the best countryside zones 1-6 has to offer.

Think Eddy Merckx, Jacques Anquetil, the Milk Race, Tour De France (but at a reduced speed of course!). Picture cutting through this green and pleasant land whilst coated in history. Down those tools and pint glasses (at least whilst riding), dust off that Molteni jersey and don that Faema cap! Suck in that expanding waistline, and push for the finishline!

Come recreate the glory days. The days of thunder. The days of Sex, lies and Handlebar Tape!

Alternatively you could come and sweat bullets in a garish woolen jersey with a bunch of mates on bikes, ride round some streets, fields and woods, then sink a few jars in the pub at the end.

  • Think I found SF's answer to Hillbilly...

minus the nose ring of course.
