  • Hippy, chapeau, you did this ride and then get up and do a 180k ride in good time on Sunday in the rain, whoooaaaaah!

Nothing like our Lord's Day for a good, hard, wet ride.. ;)

  • You're hard as nails. Sorry I flipped your cap peak on Saturday Mr Hippy Sir.

nice one hippy and i thought i was a tough nut doing a 100k in that shit weather yesterday. i kinda cleaned my bike for the tweed run, just a bit, but you wouldn't know it after yesterday.

and Sol, no worries my dear, just glad you got to catch up with us and enjoy the ride and take some nice stills

    You did? I don't remember.

I'm a novice "cap wearer" and haven't decided on up or down yet anyway :)

'Down' was good on Sunday since it covered my eyes from a little bit of the flying mud and grit.

  • bloody hippyster

Don't worry J Man.. I know you can 'get hard' when you need to. ;)

  • henley??

    oooh yes!

  • Regatta!

I checked... Kew Bridge to Henley, via a circuitous route to follow the Thames (Richmond > Kingston > Hampton > Datchett > Windsor > Henley) is about 55 miles.

It could be done as a leave-early thing... but we could also take a more direct route and only follow the River Thame as a way to avoid Heathrow and Feltham... once past there straighten up and ride direct.

This sounds brilliant I would love it.

  • It's worth noting that Henley clashes with the Dunwich Dynamo this year.

  • Uh-oh.

  • I have just joined and would like to thank everyone for a great day and for making me feel very welcome.

    Paul

  • Hi Paul - I loved the bike you were riding with the ad-board and front rack.
    Classy!

  • Hi Paul,
Nice to meet you on saturday. I enjoyed our chat leading up to the Mall steps, and loved your Pashley.

Did you do the whole ride in the end?

Mick (the spectator in tweed suit outside your shop before the off...)

    .

kinda take the fun out of the ride to be honest, the 22 miles route was fairly relaxing and comfortable, and quite fun to just enjoy the ride and the sight of London, it was perfect for everyone.

add an extra 25 miles and we'd be trying to keep up to try and reach our destination before it get too dark, doubt we'd be grinning the entire 55 miles like we did last Saturday!

  • ok but the regatta is is in the day time surely? and the dynamo isn't leaving the park til about 8pm... there's time to do both! And I have to say if you lot are acutally getting in the miles *(like i have seen mentioned) then I don't think it should be a problem.

  • Hardcore!!!
