I picked up this Francesco Moser a few years back and it was billed as having Columbus SLX tubing but the decals were all falling away and it was difficult to identify and the rear dropouts are not stamped although the entire frame is chromed beneath the front portions paint and that does tend to suggest that it was a higher end model
It appears to be a late 70s frame as it has above BB cable routing yet the chrome has lasted the test of time and is in surprisingly good shape.
The Shimano 600 group was a good few eras newer than the frame and the fork is a non original Tange so I convinced myself to convert it to fixed as with less parts adorned it takes me one step closer to getting the frame restored. NOS wet slide decals I sourced ages ago would then go on in place of the temporary vinyls I had cut when I first got it.
Actually, it looks like this now. I fitted a shorter stem, risers and front brake.

Chateau D'Ax if I remember right, Gianni Bugno era, Columbus SLX and very stiff. I still have most of the C Record groupset, the Mavic seatpost is stuck.....I'm planning to put it back in its original set up any day now.

Thanks man. Liking your Moser too. Vaz has done a good job on the restore. I'm thinking of getting him to restore the BB shell and paint on my Reg Barnett frame.

Hello people,
I like Moser bikes, in fact a moser 51.151 bike is my only transport. A mix of 9 speed shimano gear on this one. Also got a Forma from late 80s? which i am slowly building up with 7700 dura ace. Great bikes!
Glad to see I am not the only Moser lover in the world!!!!!
Ciao,
Billy. -

Hi all.
Can anyone help me identify these forks on my new Moser Neo Pro. Having real trouble finding any information on these and have my doubts they are the originals?
any information would be grateful.

Hello chaps,
I'm a great fan of the marque as well. this one here dates from 1988 and although it has a Ghiradi decal as a head badge it is actually a Moser.
The frame is fully chromed beneath the red paint, the lugs and bottom bracket are Moser and...the Campagnolo rear dropouts are the solid shield type that i've seen on top end Leader frames.
My guess is that a northern Italian Pro or semi-pro had this as his steed initially.

Fillet brazed, lugless and very very quick.
Really for safety's sake i should swap-out those Chorus monoplanners for some Record dual calipers...but no.
Italian steel and Campagnolo were peaking when this came out, it would be Alu then carbon soon after.

Eccola!
My Moser Over Dedacciai frame set from 1998, bejeweled with Campagnolo Record 8 speed components.
Unknown brand quill system seat post with carbon over alloy shaft, Selle Italia turbo-matic mk3 saddle.
Two fat ladies Rigida DP18 rims, 3ttt stem and handlebars and lastly a couple of Moser badged bidons that i aquired a few years back who's tiime has now come.
I rode this a few times in the winter but then made some tweaks and moth balled it. hopefully it will be a long hot summer...
Enjoy.
