Cheers again - I did the bumpy lanes version yesterday and really enjoyed it, just over a century from north London and a few cheeky hills in there, great times 👌🏼

Ah excellent! Glad you took that version, by far the nicest. Good shots of Reculver and what looks like just outside Herne Bay 👌

Anybody got good road routes out of north London? I've got a load of gravel routes, but when the SFAB is too strong I am left a bit short.
Really keen to avoid big busy roads, but understand that's not always possible.
I'm Finchley way, so thinking less out east, but not ruling anything out!

perfect. Thanks

I don't know if they're "good" or not(!) but I have hundreds of all lengths, I live in Hornsey right now so have a load going in most directions from here. DM me and I'll link you to my RWGPS profile

Anyone have a decent route from London to Bristol? I'll be on my road bike so no gravel/off-road please

The RCC West Country Escape does almost all of that: https://www.komoot.com/collection/1365436/-rcc-escape-west-country
Just have to get to Oxford.
Alternatively, MA3K has a route I collected here: https://www.komoot.com/collection/1935035/-ma3k-rides

Paddington express audax route is good. And it give you two options!

@ghostface so they do! Sorry about that.
@Thrasher any chance you've got the GPX for that? Can't seem to find it and sounds like a good ride.

I haven’t ridden this version so check though it.

I enjoyed this route to Brighton, which was good fun.
To be upfront - I did not make it to the end as I spend the rest of the afternoon in an ambulance after stacking it, but up to then it was a good time :)https://www.strava.com/routes/2721015824511242970
This is also another great route, from SE. Nice quick blast around with the Titsey Hill off-road climb which is a nice challenge. If you need the GPX I have it somewhere... -

Ah shit man hope you’re okay!
I’ve been meaning to do that route since last year, thanks for reminding me about it. And yeah that GPX would be great

I'm looking for something that heads out to Chelmsford, I've done it before and it's usually out through Epping Forest and in through Chipping Ongar.
What I'd like to do is head a bit further north, loop around Chelmsford and come in from the East.
On the return journey, I'm tempted to head south to Tilbury and come in to London that way.Any routes gratefully accepted/stolen.

Here's the link with the GPX.
I would edit the start to be direct main roads to West Wickham and up Layhams Road as the start in the file is a bit convoluted.
Just did it again today, thought the climb up Titsey off-road would be sketchy but it was totally fine! If not a bit steep.. -

Anyone with a premium ridewithGPS account mind linking these routes into one file for me? I would like to feel overwhelmed with my plan

Interesting mix of canal, gravel, greenway, woodland, overpass, laneway.

Here you go - Arlon to Annecy 2023 route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/42154624
The second and third legs overlapped so I split the second leg where the third leg started and then joined them there. Hope that's what you had in mind?

Amazing! Thanks so much, perfect. I suppose I have to actually ride it now? Oh god

No problem, looks amazing!

Rode a similar route in 2017, at least to Landeck.
Do not underestimate how tedious it is to ride a flat riverside path for hours on end.

Planning this route for the start of summer (an optional Finestre leg too). Disc road bike, saddle pack with clothing essentials, food in bar bag etc. So light touring.

Chambery -> Madeleine -> Telegraphe -> Galibier -> Izoard -> Agnel -> (maybe) Finestre -> Mont Cenis -> Chambery
Might start and finish in Albertville if I drive and do the Lacets du Montvernier on the way back over the Madeleine.
Any comments? Particularly if the Finestre is worth doing from the "wrong" side. I did it from Susa last year which was an experience but not sure if the 10km of dirt will be fun going down.
Route there especially nice, route back decent enough too though and avoids repetition. Ends at yard sale pizza Walthamstow
