Who on earth thought a black stem on here would look good?

I quite like mine. It was cheap and does a job.

Am I missing something? It seems like every time I log on, I find a new thread asking for opinions about the Bianchi Pista. WTF?

Hardly a surprise. No doubt manufactured by Bilderberg and the CFR.

The discussions with Specialized broke down and VB instead brokered a forum sponsorship deal with Bianchi.

I was beginning to wonder what happened to my Specialized avatar. I guess I'll have to 'settle' for a Bianchi one...

Entry Level it might but its a damn site better then the charge plug. You can get the pista for £450-80 At evens at the moment with the discount.

Hah. 6 years ago they cost 50p for a pack of 3. Fucking inflation.

ahhh the Pista. The Langster for the kids too cool for a Langster.

Pistas were good when they costed 400 odd quid, light, tough, good bits on it, ideal really. Now they're that expensive, i've taken bianchi out of my loveable bike names book.
How can they justify it?

The pound has lost one third of it's value in the last 6 months against the Euro. That'll explain the new price. Expect most imported goods to rise in price as the pound continues to lose value against both the Euro and the Dollar.

also, if you look you will see that prices on ALL bikes have gone up a noticeable amount.

some are already very good for the price, some aren't, the Bianchi Pista were reasonable value for money, not great value for money at the time, like the Specialized Langster for instance.

I was reminiscing this weekend about when I owned a bianchi pista, and I quite enjoyed it.
This got me thinking about how they used to be everywhere.
Where are they all now? I haven't seen one for months on end.

it cost £600, £200 more than the Fuji Track which is essentially the same but with crappier wheels, they used to be something like £100 more than a Fuji two years ago.
I seen more Fuji right now than Bianchi.

Yes, but what happened to all the old ones?

I still ride mine.
Maybe they hibernate in the cold months? -

I still got mine. But I took the stickers off so it is no longer as recognisable. I noted a couple getting slowly stickerbombed, and I reckon a couple must have been powdercoated to match a new deep v wheeset. Or something.

Not seeing any/many Langsters either

I'm staring one in the face right now. Poor, miserable old git of a bike. It also has marin stickers all over it, which I think it resents. Especially the chainguard protector that is stuck to the wrong chainstay.
I have in fact owned both a bianchi pista and a langster. Hurrah.

Not seen to many bowerys around lately either. I had a black one a couple of years ago as my first ss, got it for 220 from cycle surgery in some sale or other. Great bike. Seen a few in noddenger guise but thats about it.
I guess last summers otp is this springs vintage custom fixie skidder?
Would look nicer with a threaded headset too... old school ftw
