I dont mind going to carling academy as long as I get to see Mayhem. My tutor just set us a challenge to go and review a 'rock' gig for next week.
Any suggestions? -

There are very few venues in london i refuse to go to, but that is one of them, I havent seen a single decent gig there. No atmosphere, the sound is always shit, takes forever to get near the fucking bar let alone get a pint. rubbish.
I have however just seen Neurosis are playing Koko in december, now that should be killer.

The drummer quit..
“It is with deep sadness that I am announcing my departure from The Sword. After nearly seven years and some of the most amazing adventures of a lifetime, I have arrived at a place where I am physically and emotionally unable to continue on as part of The Sword. If I could go any further, I would as I love the music and JD, Bryan and Kyle are people that I deeply respect, but I have reached a point where I just can’t do this anymore. I would like to thank the wonderful people who made this experience what it has been: the fans, the people that I have worked and all of the bands and musicians that have inspired me over the years. I thank you and apologize for any disappointment that this may cause anyone, not least of which The Sword.” – Trivett WingoWas looking forward to that one.

Any suggestions?London, right? Saturday night, Scar Studios (Camden) Astrohenge + support (could end up being mental)
There is also some stuff happening in Milton Keynes (A Holy Roar night, with some very good bands playing) and Damnation Festival in Leeds (with some very, very, very good bands playing).

Picked up a CD by these guys on a whim (it was cheap) and I'm enjoying it quite a lot - to me it sounds like a toned down and slightly blackened version of someone like Highrise or Mainliner.

It was 1991 that I saw him on the first White Zombie tour.
That's a whole MaxCrowe lifetime.

I am very ambiguous towards this news. Homme has always said it a terrible idea; on the other hand I really, really want to see Kyuss.

That's a whole MaxCrowe lifetime of unemployment.
I saw White Zombie twice before they went away
Mechamorgan:The Kyuss thing does indeed look interesting I think tickets are on sale on friday... acting fast I think is important. Did you see GPK tour recently??

I am not a fan of Homme, but I do believe Kyuss needed not to be resurrected.
They are only in it for the money.

As an aside from the gigs thread... people need educating: Melvins, Neurosis, Saint Vitus and Om combine to form...

Ah, Melvins ... close to my heart, jeez they're prolific. Sold t-shirts for them at the Underworld in '91!
Us too. The bass in the Hallucination Bomb is most tasty.
