So I need a new polo frame. Rather desperately. I think the Dawes is on her last legs.
I was thinking about the Eighth Inch Scrambler, but they're out of stock until December. I was also thinking about the Bruiser, but it's going to be around 600 USD with shipping. I could probably do that, if it wasn't for the unknown of import taxes. I was also thinking about the Pompino but they're also sold out.
I really liked playing on an IRO/BLB frame (hence my interest in the Scrambler, as it looks to be basically a slightly more engineered version), but they're over priced now (especially when you consider the Scrambler is 150 USD), imo. The Plug would suit if I could find one cheap enough...
So!
Any other ideas?

Second hand surly?

Steamroller would be a good choice too, yeah! None on the bay right now.
-
• #957
What size do you need?
-
• #958
horatio, what about an Archie Wilkinson? hell, a whole bike even for the price of an BLB/IRO frame.
-
• #959
they are shit (bendy) and only come in tiny sizes
-

What size do you need?
59 (although I could live with a 56 if it were cheap enough).
Archies only come in stupid small sizes.

Yeah, but 26" wheel = new set of wheels.... No mention (that I've seen) on 700s fitting with a brake...
-

And they're 650 dollars!
-
• #965
610 for the raw version. what are you man or mouse?
-
• #966
Clearly a mouse.
I'd get a Bruiser before the Joust.

horatio on-one has a couple nice frames for polo, at £125-199. they are taking preorders for some slick new colours for end october/early november delivery.
the scandal 29er is a "mountain" frame at £199

the il pompino is more track style at £125

and the inbred is also a mountain geometry for £125

just noticed you mentioned the pompino. there's also the mongoose maurice, full bike for 350. that's basically a scrambler.

Bruisers are awesome, i was so gutted not to get one whilst i was in the states, did play on one of the mke guys whilst there, handled amazingly, really nice geomitry etc...although a cutter would be cheaper no?

Cheers, Josh. Not that interested in a 29er really. Again, don't want to buy a new set of wheels, and used to skinny tyres.
I'm seriously thinking of just getting a BLB track frame again. 200 quid, job done.

29er frames should run 700c just fine, they are practically the same size
-
• #972
They are the same size. 622 bead diameter, the only difference is that 29er frames can take much fatter tyres, that doesn't mean you have to run fat tyres though.

• #973
Yeah, true...

• #974

-

Can you pay for it too?
Brooklyn's new version? They look solid.
