Brakes aren't necessary when you have walls.

Don't knock it until you've tried it. Plenty powerful enough.
Pretty much finito.
Needs risers/higher rise stem and spds putting on.

Has anyone here got a Hija de la Coneja? I am going to order one but am bamboozled with rear spacing/hub options. Basically I want to be able to switch between wheelsets easily so it seems like 135 spacing is the best as there are plenty of wheelsets/hubs out there.
The issues with this are that the options for non disc hubs (I am going for V brakes) seems a little limited. Also the rear dropout width will most likely be 14mm whereas the hub axles are all 10mm. I imagine that isnt a problem with vertical drop outs but with horizontal the torque from pedalling is likely to shift the hub in the drop outs if it doesnt fit.
Am I best to concede, go for track spacing, and use a track hub with free wheel? The issue here is there isnt lots of spare wheels I can throw in if I damage one.
What have other people done is the same situation
HELP ME

Whilst you may lose out a bit in terms of flange spacing/wheel dish, there's no reason you can't use disc-compatible hubs with rim brakes. Also the rear dropout width will most likely be 14mm
As in the size of axle the dropout is cut for? Why would they be 14mm? -

im not sure i see the problem you have with 135? any hub you buy will have a way of converting to a solid axel. you can run v brakes with disc hubs?

The only issue with the disc hubs is the dishing which would make the wheel weaker (or so i'm told)

I'd be surprised if the dropouts came as standard in 14mm.
Swapping a hollow axle for a solid one, the ease with which you can do this will probably vary from hub to hub.
Whilst disc hubs will have less distance between the flanges than the equivalent non-disc hub, I would guess that the difference between a 135mm disc hub and a 120mm track hub will be negligible. -

Surly make 135-spaced single/fixed/flip flop hubs.
If the Hija is the same as other polo-Marinos I've seem, 10mm rear axle is standard.
what ya getting?
