  • If its just the cranks then a regular crank extractor works fine on mine, if you want the chainring off as well you might need to resort to said big hammer

  • You don't by chance have one of those tools do you?

  • Got three I think, for profile, eclat, and wethepeople cranks. The eclat one is definitely bigger, not sure if the others are different (although knowing profile its probably some ridiculous thread size). Might depend what cranks you have but your welcome to try them.

  • I'll taping it first with wood and hammer. There 8inch cranks if that makes a difference

  • Put the bike somewhere raised off ground with protection to stop any scratches etc,
use bit of solid wood or something which wont fuck up the axle, and a hammer, and knock one off.

  • If you dont have a hammer, the lock tool is always good.

Yeh that's what I always do before I knock one off.

  • Where's this new "polo bike gallery" thread then?

  • i use my mallet. Comes off with one gentle hit.

  • I have a few bits for sale:

    Answer All-Mountain Riser Bars, OS 31.8mmØ 555mm width, 1" rise, £15 (£50 RRP)

1x Avid BB7 disc caliper, used, but not very old, good working order, Pads are almost new. £20
1x Avid BB5 disc caliper, used, but fully working, £10

  • Could I have the bb7 Gabes? (it's mechanical not hydrolic right?)

    Cheers.

  • I'll take the risers if they're still around please? Can collect at weekend.

  • So there seems to be no photos of my NS traffic built up, pre-op which is a shame. If anyone stumbles across one, I'd love to see it.

I loved my NS traffic polo bike, it had everything I wanted except for it was way too long with it's 57cm TT.

I spoke Ryan (Oak Cycles) about this and discussed what I was looking for and what he could do, and he did this

    The geo is now:
    head tube-70 degrees,
    rake 45,
    trail 68, with 35mm tires.
    51cm effective TT
    96cm wheel base.

    Before and after

    My new Oak Traffic

It handles really well and has turned out better than I ever imagined. I feel like I have my own custom frame and am able to put a longer stem and smaller tyres (bang on trend) for better handling and weight saving.
It's going to take some getting used to, to get the most out of it, but after just one session I could turn really tight corners and see a massive potential.

Ryan is an actual genius and I would definitely recommend Oak Cycles to anyone.

    The end.

  • Did you steal brendan's saddle?

  • Could I have the bb7 Gabes? (it's mechanical not hydrolic right?)

    Cheers.

Yep, yours, it's mechanical yes. Best there is.

Sure, I'm about on saturday morning, that's about it. Otherwise evenings next week is good.

    cheers!

You got my PM about the bb5?

  • Interesting J.
What was your thinking behind new angles?
Shortened it but then slackened the steering?
Looks good. Would like to try it out.
    Great job Ryan.

  • I think the old HT was 73?
I guess we had to work with what was already there to some degree, but I basically left it up to Ryan's expertise.
    Welcome to try it anytime!

  • I can confirm the handling is quite amazing.

  • Wicksie, any chance you're playing polo friday night? I'd be keen to give it a go if that's ok?

  • No chance what so ever I'm afraid. Sorry!

  • gabes ill take the bb5 (or 7 if louis doesnt take) if its still available.

  • Second rear wheel broken. Want a proper wheelset now.

Any recommendation for a 26" wheelset sub 100GBP? Would also consider building it myself but have no clue what parts to use...

    cheers,

  • New bike
