If Marino didn't already deal directly with the public, I'd support his endeavour but I don't see what extra value there is in an Alej-supplied frame vs a Marino-direct frame.
If you kept some frames in stock so people could have their bikes in less than a week, you'd be providing a useful service and I'd support it.
If you're inclined to get your own custom frame, then go for it. You'll realize that you end up paying pretty much the same anyway (Did I say it's shipped express?)
You might not see the value of my work. After all, how difficult could design a bicycle with precise handling characteristics be? -

It would take some of the guess work, and effort out of doing it yourself, I'm glad I did, cos I learnt quite a bit from it, but others might not want to do/risk that

Yeah, you're right.
All I'm saying is that not because you can get a custom bike that you'll get it right in the end. What I'm bringing to the table is my solution. I'm not gouging anybody. -

I know, until I rode mine I was worried I'd fucked something up, so what you've done is good, means people don't need to worry about getting something wrong and wasting money, they'll know your designs work and can go with them

I think it's a good idea. The only reason I can see to go to Marino direct now is if you weren't of standard proportions or you'd made an amazing discovery and thought you could improve the geo. massively.

I used a sheet of Alu, and a hacksaw, it's not hard.
-
• #7447
I used an old rotor and a hacksaw. It was hard work. I think snotty otter or someone posted a photo further back in this thread that really helped.
-
• #7448
i remember having to saw through a old disc rotor with a small sized hacksaw...
but Max is also doing disc brake protectors with his frames for around £20 but i doubt you can buy them alone though.
