Gusset 853 pigmy bmx cranks are pretty light, its the spindle that is heavy.

English, JIS taper (?), 68mm x 118mm... I've got one you can have for six beers...
Awesome Jo, any chance I can get it before the BFF? I know it's unlikely, but worth a shot!
Otherwise can you bring it on Sunday?
By the way, would have replied earlier but for some reason my phone stopped liking Lfgss!

Bah, just rode back from Hackney... I'm going back that way later (LFGSS/BFF party) or you can detour through Brixton on the way home... Up to you, I'll chuck it in my bag anyway...

I can go through Brixton after work... Any preference with time? Earliest would be 6ish? Shall I get you the beers tonight or Sunday?! :)
Pm me you address/postcode?

I use the Sinz BMX race cranks:
Pros: Light, square taper so fit with JIS BB that came with the bike originally (so can maintain 44m chainline), come is a variety of lengths (way down to like 130 or something crazy, I use 165), go down to 34t, easy to find replacement rings. Come in all black so look good
Cons: 5 bolt 110BCD so unlikely to find 1/8th chain ring. Hard to find a decent bashguard to cover a 34t chain ring (using a blackspire one meant for up to 40t which just covers a 34t which is heavy as fook) -

Does anyone have a cable disc brake caliper they don't need? my front shimano one has become cracked and now the cable bolt won't tighten.

If anyone has a 26.2 seat post they want to pass on/sell/trade for beer, I would be very happy if you brought it (to the BFF) tomorrow!

Mk4
I need a brake lever for V's, never rocked them before, cables, the crankset to come off my dead polobike.... Then it'll be done I guess. In the future if I like a 26" bike I might upgrade the forks, but really this is just the cheapest way of getting back on the court.

Wow, for a Pretty cheap bike thats good! AmazIngly large bb hole! Plus quite a slack head angle, might be nice with a smaller fork or smaller front wheel?
-
• #6937
26"?
Citygent is that 1 1/8 headtube?
-
• #6938
^26". And yes, a whopping BB hole. I think some Onzas might work.

• #6939
yeah bringing the front end in, would appear a good idea, headtube angle might mean it changes little though I guess.
-
• #6940
Oh well, what your bb looses in gap is probably made up by having an extra top tube! :)

Hmm. I think Tuff Guys would drop the whole front about an inch thanks to the much lower crown, and tuck the wheel back nearly an inch as well... so possibly worth it. Also, I might be able to slam the back wheel a bit.

Having said all that, you only started a few weeks ago, wait and see how you like it before you spend more money on it! :)

citygent, do you just need 1 single long pull lever? The ones on my bike should be coming off this week (they are only about a month old). Just need to get my dual brake lever sorted. You can have them for a fiver each.

What size frames do the MTB users out there use?
Does the same rule of one size too small apply or is it slightly different?
What do people normally do with forks? The one I'm looking at has a suspension fork and I would imagine that a 700c fork with a 26" fork would compensate for the suspension distance.
As a 5'11" gent, would a 18" with a smaller front fork work out for me?

would effective not be longer?

Ok, has anyone got a spare 26" rear wheel that they don't want/need? I've decided I really should replace to taco'd one, the freehub is pretty fucked on it too :(

love the humu!
I saw this and thought of you Neeeil.
Having just put profiles on my rig I can say they are way way WAY lighter than the 110 AC/bashguard setup I was running beforehand.
