I would stop faster than I currently do, but it would still. E through skidding not a cease of momentum.
Also I would feel inadequate if my brake mount was smaller than todds. It is bad enough him having a beard and fancy leggings.

Snoops, I am interested, is it like the dimension double barrel lever?
-

Modulate the brake then rather than just grabbing as hard as you can.
and also, it's all about the small brake mounts. I have something in the works to allow v brakes on a frame without mounts which is reasonably discrete (well more discrete than todd's mounting plate beast).

yep Moog, amazing but only £60
-
• #1382

Rik: Where from?
Josh: I need a certain amount of vertical adjustment in the pads to allow for my road/polo gearing. I'll have to wait until the bike is built to work it out but it doesn't look like that calliper has much room of adjustment. -

A motolite for polo?
Lovely brakes but £££You could get a decent avid and some good pads and not spend anywhere near that.
-
• #1387
I got a V-brake plate like Camero's and a DIY Problem solvers 1:2 that need to go in the steed

moto bmx is what I'm after, if I can get one for £60ish I'll probably get it. Found out today that mr taxman owes me £80 from working over xmas so that's a handy excuse to blow some money. Also depends on hows much pad adjustment I'll need.

Are those double barrel levers a bit shit then? They look it.Who makes the splitters? A BMX co. ?
-
• #1393
Or a road brake thing (in reverse?)...
-
• #1394
I would not want to cramp Brendan's style.
Cameron, there is word of them breaking, especially in the vicinities polo induces. -
• #1395
best.

I've got one of these, seem pretty good so far. Used it all day yesterday with no problems. Need to tweak the balance a bit to get the set-up right but that's very simple.

Snoops, if Emmet doesn't take the lever off you in one of the vicinities that polo induces then I'd take it.

Finally got my bike together... really happy with it! Bars, grips and lever set up is spot on.
...and the lay back is yet to be tested, but im sure it'll be useful... and the TT brake on the rear is solid.
Ideally i wanna switch my front tyre to something a bit more grippier... and lightish. I think a marathon on the front is a bit over spec'd for what it has to do...any suggestions?
...cos the rubino is shit.
ha to think it used to look like this... nov 2008.
-
• #1399
A standard marathon on the front is better as it's much lighter than a +.
I'm riding top contacts 28c and they've been very good but I feel they're still too narrow.Gotta get rid or the skinny tyres ray...

Its the juddering and random side movements thats gotta go. The rubinos were perfectly ok in the summer... so hot on the court the tyres were sticky.
yeah doing a tyre search now. cheers toddy
