Birmingham Bike Polo (Wednesday nights / Sundays - info in the thread)

Ack, buckled wheel and a stripped thread, not good.

The wheel's fine, just can't tighten it up

broken bikes annoy me....

You can't tighten the track bolts in the dropout? Sounds fucked! You can get a new axle and bolts for a tenner or so though, they had them at scotts cycles last time i was in there. Easy job i think.

It's worse than I thought. Bought a new axle and got it rolling but the spoke tension is all wrong and the rim just flexes and binds up in the frame straight away. Haven't really got the time or inclination to get it sorted so I'm out this week. Sorry

my rear wheel suffered the same fate on my mtb..

can someone check out the new court at calthorpe?

Checked! Looks a little smaller than the other Calthorpe, similar to Cambridge summer tourne court. I think most gaps under railings are small enough, the only area in question is in the goal mouths which might be a bit of a wound, but I suppose a few bags can sort that. Might be a worthwhile venue if kids/cricketers scupper Sunday games at Highgate.

come on one more for sunday, prepared to make the effort even i get awoken at 3am by a pissed up bellend!!

Not sure about this wednesday because the birmingham cycle forum is on at 6.30 in town....but if the lights will be on till ten i'll be aboe to make it later on.
