The sound quality of a Trax 12” might have been dodgy but I remember them as being nice fat vinyl.
I always wondered whether the likes of Issac Hayes ever saw a cent too.

Likewise. The melodies and production are just too commercial. It's a shame, it's a missed opportunity for her to do something genuinely ground breaking. I like her voice, would love to see it employed with the music of a producer like Lady Blacktronika. But that would be too understated. The record company would probably freak out at the lack of a big hit.

Agreed, It's very competent and way too safe. Boring repetitive pop.

What's grinding my gears most is mainstream media coming out with the sort of guff saying that she's saved house music. Jesus fucking christ. It's not like it's even that underground - it's big business these days. Ten minutes of keyboard research would have shown you that it was alive and kicking before Beyonce stepped in.

Popular because it's got a massive ad budget. Everyone with their nose in the trough is obliged to big it up.

Really fun mostly house set from the usually fairly punishing Boris

Does anyone know of any decent Discord servers for discussion of (deep) house music?

Incoming old man shakes fists at clouds - Are the crowd in this typical of clubbers now, or is this just a Boiler Room thing? Seems more like a gig with everyone facing the DJ and people recording it on their phones.
Anyhoo, Kerri Chandler awesome as always and mixing on four reel to reels. Atmos mix of it on Apple Music also.

I was ready to hate about the reel to reels but that is an epic set the selection and sound quality is superb. Mixing unsurprisingly a bit rough given the complexity of the medium.
As far as the crowd goes, that's quite a Boiler Room thing. It's not like everyone is interested in the DJ in most clubs. I'm not sure this sound is that big with a young audience either. It's a spectacle though, reminded me of some late 80's nights.

As far as Boiler Room goes, check out this one from London in November. I think this is more representative of the kind of fun that some people are having.

That doesn't even register on the list of the most awful Boiler Room crowds I've seen

Having a moment with some SA house at the moment
It's a reference to a discussion in the Techno thread.
Trax pressings are not much better today.
