Errrrr....how do you work that one out?
We've finished above them 2 seasons on the trot
The derby this season finished 3-3 with them getting an 89th min equaliser
We're currently in 4th, they're in 5th
They've spent over £60m since the Summer
We've spent £18m
.....Brentan has also spunked £150m in 2 seasons
Rafa was the same, spunked millions upon millions upon millions on shite then bleated about not being able to compete with Utd who had spent far less. But why let facts get in the way hey?
I don't think Brentan's Jedi mind tricks are working quite so well though

Liverpool spent £18m on Sakho. He doesn't look very good.

Mourinho on MOTD moaning about amount of Kopites in TV/media
Got to agree with him there

Nearly as shit as Djimi Traore

That's what we said about Liverpool. We were right.
"We" including all the sane ones, right?
I don't get the joyous proclamations about 1st to fifth as though mystic Meg is green with envy. It was clear to see we had the toughest run in over Christmas.

were you ever realistically going for the title?
Liverpool and Everton are as good as Spurs were in the last 2/3 seasons: 4th and 5th place material. Anyway, you dont win the title by beating the top 4 but by winning the tricky games like Stoke or Sunderland away when you are playing shit.
Everton are pretty good at the moment, Martinez is one of the best 3 or 4 managers in the league although I hate to say so on here with Mr Bat Shit Crazy Rantasaurus Rex up thread.
Liverpool the best team on Merseyside, just.
The Arsenal, now we really are genuine title contenders...
Fucking this. I'd happily lose to Man U, Chelsea, Ars and Citeh if it meant we won the rest. That form will get you over the line.

Can we see some net spend stat please?
-
• #94760
It's a net spend of about £70m
12/13 = £50m
13/14= £21mTotal spent by Brenda is circa £110m

I do agree with Pisti that Everton are the best team to play at the Emirates this season - but after that he seems to have run aground somewhat.
They in the end were lucky to get their point -
• #94762
Everton were good at the Emirates though the best team ive seen there this season was Dortmund even though we shouldve got at least a point.
Fair play about Brentan spending alot of money with limited results, however he has Suarez and effectively had to entirely rebuild a club that had been run appalingly badly for the last few years as opposed to Everton who are well run and have been for years. Everton with Suarez would be better than Liverpool with Suarez. Problem is that hes at Liverpool...
also id be happy to put money on Liverpool finishing above Everton at the end of the season. Id love to see Martinez at Arsenal when AW retires though.

All this talk of money is bollocks. End result is all any one cares about.

Liverpool are an average team with a world class striker - that's about it. Take him out and they'd be a 'Stoke' at best
We have quality in every single position and not ONE player other than Suarez would get in our current best starting 11 - FACT!
-
• #94767
fair do's to chelsea they played a tactically good game snubbed out our forwards, beat us fair and square
hopefully we'll push on in the new year

Is Pisti having a nervous breakdown?

i think he's just happy
let him enjoy the moment -

I don't always agree with you and in fact think you are a complete half wit but have to concede that you are 80% correct with this.
Liverpool were toothless last night.
The spine of the team is ok but the rest are mediocre at best.

Is Pisti having a nervous breakdown?
Nahh....just sick to death of years and years of shite from helmet Kopites and the media not giving two fucks about 'little plucky Everton' when in fact that is us that is the only team worth worrying about in Liverpool
Still, it's good to go un-noticed, we can just get on with things

Three points, and three goals, two from open play. Its like 'aving 'Arry back.
Maybe this season won't be a washout after all..
In two minds as Sherwood seems to be making a fist of it, and we're playing more attacking, less controlling football, but wanting to give him the benefit of the doubt for the rest of the season, I'm unsure he's the man to take us further. Though if he does get us into the Champions League, it'll be interesting to see if Levy lets him hold onto the job longterm or gets all ruthless and cuts him loose for a bigger name.
Still in the hunt, three points off the champions league places, and a tasty six pointer between us and Man Utd on New Years Day. I've got to say I'm not sure whether we'll beat Moyes' team, but it feels like as good a time as any what with RvP and Rooney struggling for fitness..
Probably uttered some MikeCesque famous last words there..
....oh, we've been the best team to play at The Emirates this season and controlled most of the game, with Barkley bossing the midfield, getting MOM and your two so called best players(Wilshere & Ramsay) both being subbed on 60mins
Liverpool got steamrolled in a comfortable 2-0 victory at The Emirates
