We should neither forget that Liverpool's "history" was bought and paid for.
Exactly how much have you spent paying off managers?

Did you join the protests at the time, Clive? Or we're you away at school then?

Surely you know the Loftus Road away stand is as steep as their pricing.

Who cares?
Simple facts are:
We now have the best manager in the world. By best, I mean undeniably the best suited to Chelsea and also, very possibly, the most talented generally.
Whatever Abramovich may have spent, the value of his investment will have increased and he could sell Chelsea for more than he has put into it. But he won't.

Clive, do you think Jose is the best manager for Chelsea team only at this period - or going forward? As an outsider, I just wonder about his longevity at a club. Although maybe that really isn't an issue in football anymore.
I think he is a great manager. Im not actually sure how good of a coach he is but weakness there can be made up for by good backroom staff. He has the total support of the club at Chelsea as he did at Inter but not Madrid - I think this is important for him.
I think come the other side of the Christmas period, we will see a truer picture of the league.

Im pretty worried about facing Liverpool at the weekend.
Playing against two strikers is quite a rare occurrence in modern football.
I would play Vermalen in midfield if it was me.

Has style. Plays a brand of football that is devoid of any style.
So yes.

Mourinho is the only manager who could have taken over and run the team after the useless Benetiz. The atmosphere around the place speaks volumes. Club team and supporters are as one.
He does not play the expansive goal scoring style of football that Arsenal displayed on Tuesday night, that is true. But you have to question whether you would prefer to watch a team play that beautifully to no effect or a team that actually scores goals without conceding them.
He may not last as long as Wenger but if he went eight seasons without winning anything, one would not expect him to.

I thought Suarez was an inside-out trequartista?
-

Interesting to note that earlier managers were obliged or felt obliged to play Torres. They did and his performances were, at best, erratic and certainly disappointing.
Mourinho doesn't feel so obliged, drops him, and lo and behold, he starts playing out of his skin.
There is a lesson to be learnt there.

The Argentinian No 7 should have gone for his afters but that was a borderline yellow. Never a red.

I think it was a second yellow wasn't it? He does eventually wave a yellow card as well, after having already shown the red.

No, a straight red followed by a yellow for something he said.
