^ Ozil is a great signing. was talking with skoota at lunchtime today and i said i would choose him over Bale
If I had the choice for Arsenal. I would choose Bale. He has a physique built for the Premier League and the fact he has played in defence rounds his game off.
But I am extremely happy to have Ozil, for a transfer fee, which is well within our means. I would very much like to see us get Ba - his bush doctor knee op looks to have been ok and he can provide something different for us.
If we could have gotten a defender and one of Guilavogui or Nainggolan, then that for me would've been great business this transfer window

tl;dr https://believe.in/fundraising/DavidKitchen/319
Last year I got hit by a bout of sciatica. It knocked me off the bike for months and had me squealing with pain. I only started riding again at the start of this summer. Even now, a 10 mile ride leaves me bruised by the end of it. This 200 mile ride is going to hurt a lot because of the sciatica, it will be a suffer fest for me no matter how much I train.
I'm terribly slack on keeping up with the exercises, stretches and rehab physio. So I noticed an event, and have committed to an unmoveable date, and am going to do a long ride (for someone who's barely been riding this last year).
The ride is Paris to London.
Which is obviously the wrong way, uphill, into the wind, and Paris is a nicer arrival point than the outer edges of London. Oh well.
Anyhow the ride is: https://techbikers.com/
And they're raising money to help build schools in far flung places such as Nepal. Because £50k builds a school there, and in the UK it would barely build a wall, in a library, and even then it wouldn't put the books on the shelves.
So I'm being sponsored, par for the course for these rides, and in this case my conscientiousness means that it guilts me into not quitting when the pain kicks in, and forces me to do that training.
**Every penny raised goes to charity, not a penny goes to admin or payment fees.

A bit about the TechBikers group: It's basically a load of techies, geeks, entrepreneurs... the cream of the crop of the London startup scene. Between us we have something like 300k Twitter followers, and insane social media reach... so as you might imagine, you'll be hearing about the ride quite a bit, and because of http://microcosm.app/ I'm basically one of that lot and will be representing.
TechBikers is also surprising in that the vast majority of the riders I've spoken to are not cyclists. Actually, so far the majority don't even own a bike. So this is going to be damn amusing.
What that means is that we really would appreciate help from those working in the bike industry. We need nutrition on the road, we need helmets, hell we even need bikes.
If you're in the bike industry and can help in any way, please contact me: david@buro9.com
One final thing, I promised Clive that if I hit my target of £1k I'll put tags back on the football thread. At least until people screw it up again.
Many thanks, greatly appreciated, thanks for putting up with another "please sponsor me" things on here,
David
PS: You know, I've never actually done a sponsored thing before. First time for everything.
Actually, I'll tell you what... if I hit the target, then I'll give them [tags!!!] back for the time being, mostly to see whether you all fuck them up again.
Apologies if this is a repost...*

Have Derby signed anyone?
We did all our business early doors...
Paul Rideout to Derby
He could be the defensive rock we need at the back...

Rumour was (has since been quashed) that the legend that is Johnny Brayford don't see eye to eye with Malky McMackay at the Malaysia stadium so he could (have) been back at Derby before the window shuts.
Unlikely to happen though, we may loan him at a later stage in the season if he isn't getting game time.

What makes it worse is that we're offloading Shane Long to make room.
FML.
I'd better be prepared for Championship Football next season...

Alonso, the F 1 jockey, is taking over the sponsorship of Euskatel. His Real Madrid namesake is a huge disappointment. Gareth Bale could afford to sponsor a team or two as well. Perhaps one men's and one women's.

who's coming in ?Interesting.
Perhaps the Moses to you guys was an act of good faith in helping to get suarez to sign for us?

Ba is not being loaned out :'( thats a real shame, as I was fancying him.
Lukaku could be off to WBA, as he is the one that Chelsea prefer to send out on loan and he favours going back to the Hawthorns...

At this rate there will more Chelsea strikers in Liverpool than anything else. I hope there's a recall clause in Lukaku's loan agreement.

Haven't Arsenal got gazillions to spend? I reckon if they're willing to drop £10m+ on Ba than he'll be quicker at the Emirates than a you say welcome.

Agreed.
It's kind of stupid that if they wanted a forward, they left it this late and with no other options.
Although Im happy with Ozil - Im still very unhappy with the way the transfer window has gone as a whole. We should have had 4/5 in 4 weeks ago - and have only added Ozil today.

Arsenal still have Park Chu-Young, Wenger's secret weapon.

Adlene Guedioura to Palace.
Liam Bridcutt and Grant Leadbitter in.
Not the worst piece of business that.

Apparently Lukaku has chosen us and is on his way over to discuss terms.
Please make this happen for me.

• #87969
I'd rather see him develop further under a former Chelsea player and coach than at those scruffy scouse twats.

Ozil confirmed, sensational signing.
That'll keep the Emirates quiet.

Oh....apparently he's coming to 'the scruffy Scouse twats' now after Chelsea have advised him to
Some loyalty to a former Chelsea coach!
