Cliveo, TS, hard fought? Tactical? Give me a break, let Chalfie pull out the stats for you, less than ten chances on target between supposedly two of the best teams in the land. And all of those weak off balance edge of the box scuttlers.
Both managers came up super small in this match with neither having the gumption to have a go. Me and Clint were of the opinion that these sort of matches should be delayed till Christmas and the end of the season to put some proper drama into it, thereby making it make or break for both teams.
Any game that plays out like a cup semi final that both teams don't want to lose is never anything but boring, boring, boring. Neither team looked anywhere near to scoring and when utd's best chance falls to welbeck and he slices it wide, well you know it's not going to get any better.
Also Clive despite your spirited defence of mata seems the manager doesn't think much of him, big players for big games right? So how far down the pecking order is he?

How's Torres getting on this season so far?
Serious question. -

Scoring in all training sessions, I imagine.

Oliver Kay @OliverKayTimes
Mourinho when asked if Mata could be sold: "No chance. Juan goes nowhere"
10:38 PM - 26 Aug 2013Let's hope he keeps his word.

Why would he sell Mata to anyone else in the UK?

How's Torres getting on this season so far?
Serious question.You tedious bore.
The season is 3 matches old and the Spanish players came back late from the Confederations cup (that's the excuse that's being touted for Azpilicueta, Torres and Mata) yet the Brazilians have all started games already this season. -

Corny. Stop trolling. As someone who "supports" the team that invented parking the bus.
Jaw. Luiz has not started and he is a Braziller.

nice to see mourihno playing the same style of football that got him sacked last time round
-
• #86968
So that's Mata and Luis plus cash for Rooney.

And what was your dear scouse legend Moyes doing? The "champions" playing a negative game at home? Hmmmmm

I'm so suspicious these days that I hover on any link that gets posted on LFGSS prior to clicking on it. Ramshagger continues to be DTM.

My bad on the Luiz call, at least he's genuinely injured whereas Mata is match fit?

CliveO despite your and TS' veneration of Mourinho, apart from the team he took over from Ranieri with Duff and Robben on the wings, which tore into the opposition in the first part of that season, none of his teams have filled me with football joy. Mourinho is the ultimate football pragmatist, and despite your age, and propensity to witter on about going to away grounds in the bad old days of the 70's and 80's, you Clive seem to believe that defensive football started when Mourinho slung an insult at spurs.
Did you not see how Chelsea won the Champions League, weren't you actually there?
Did Chelsea not park the bus for pretty much all of their matches against oppositions that put the fear into them and win on the counter attack?Lazy and hypocritical Clive, thought you were better than that, but in your haste to keep the Mourinho faith, you've blinded yourself to the fact that the match was in fact shite, two supposedly big teams, coming up small..

Jumping to conclusions is so last year. They've had 3 competitive matches together. Let's speak in May...
Why play Mata, he's part of the swap/cash deal for Rooney.
