Probably not.
Hasn't stopped them before. Probably still have a little of General Franco's ill gotten gain stashed away.

Cheeky fucking idiots. The longer this goes on the more deluded the fans will become as it stops them looking at realistic targets.
I thought the Arse were owned by the richest man in the UK now?If he goes to Arsenal I will wear a Liverpool shirt for one day
I wouldn't get too worked up mate, he's off to Real Madrid

If Corny has ever had a ST in his life I will buy a Liverpool ST every year for the rest of my life

That's fine by me.
For the right price of course and that prices starts at 55million -

So i'm confused about the £40mil release clause. I was under the impression that if a team offered more than £40mil, Ratface would be free to agree terms and move?

Doubt it mate there is a waiting list for ST at LFC unlike at Everton where they dish 'em out free with cornflakes.
And even if they were available you have previous and would only welch on the deal and wet the bed.....Again.
Poorly supported clubs>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Woah woah woah.
Let's not deflect attention here, bale is leaving. In typical spurs fashion, towards the end of the window. A good price will be secured, I'm sure. And spurs will reinvest wisely, to be able to sell again next season.

when does the window shut by the way

Liverpool owner John W Henry has asked what "they're smoking" at Arsenal after rejecting the Gunners' improved offer of just over £40m for Luis Suarez.
Henry tweeted: "What do you think they're smoking over there at Emirates?"
LOL! Like Suarez would go to Arse. He's got more chance of winning summat, where he is.
Maybe Arse are simply trying to scupper any other PL club's chances of signing Suarez. I can't believe that Arse would actually spend about 80 times what they have in the last 100 years, on just one player.
Liverpool can't afford to lose Suarez, and they can't afford not to let him go, if the price keeps going up. Still, all this attention on Suarez deflects it all away from Coutinho....

No.
He would be allowed to speak with other teams but at the end of the day we do not have to sell him if we don't feel the offer is high enough.
I'm sure there will be some complex legal wranglings if it comes to this. You know what these lawyer types are like and their love of words -

The clause is set at a very high value, to dissuade other clubs from trying to poach the player. Otherwise you'd have clubs simply offer the player higher wages, and they'd be leaving for much lower transfer fees.
I hope Suarez stays; he's one of the best players in the World, and if Cavani can go for £55 million, then who's to say Suarez isn't 'worth' that?
Truth is, Liverpool need Suarez, or to replace him with someone of identical ability and talent. But sadly, the way things have bin at LFC over the last couple of decades, they'll sell Suarez then spend £35 million on Darren Bent...

Best reply I saw to that was "Nothing as strong as the shit you were on when you signed off the Andy Caroll deal"
-

Or as strong as the shit they mustuv bin smoking when they sold Fabregas then Van Persie...
He'll be back, with his tail between his legs, next summer signing for Chelsea or Untied
