Not only does this match show you how shit football was back then and how the introduction of foreign players etc has been for the better if you are interested in quality. But there is also a goal given for England when a scotch defender handles on the line preventing the ball going in. The ref doesn't seem to hand out any further punishment in the form of cards. The goal is given and play resumes without any remonstrating from any of the players. Quality refereeing , no childish tantrums but utter shit football from 'athletes' that were little more than drunken Sunday league gas men

And the use of 'scotch' was deliberate in a Stewart lee kind of way

F*ck off Rio Ferdinand.
ex west ham protected from high upon high by the devil himself.
Why is it that some small clubs can have their grounds taken away from them by unscrupulous chairmen (for example a senior member of the FA hierarchy and former JP who fell asleep in court) at lowest book value (value of stadium) and have to purchase it back at highest market value (the land value to housing developers). Then face a winding up order from HMRC over unpaid tax bills and WHU get to rent a brand new shiny redeveloped stadium from the government for a tiny proportion of their income. Do they get to keep to keep all the gate Receipts, car parking and food and drink sales? If so it will probably take the spammers about three home matches to start making profit from this little venture. ouch...
I suppose they are putting in less than the cost of an average premier league player (£15m I cite £20M Jordan Henderson..) at the same time as selling their own ground but breaking one of the FA's own rules (or just ignoring it as has been done before with regards to asset stripping as cited above) on moving grounds to within the certain boundary of another club at the same time..
and giving that douche rio a recall in the first place.
football is shit

West Ham co-owner David Sullivan has promised to bring Champions League football to the club's new home at the Olympic Stadium, adding he will hold talks on Monday about buying a "record-breaking" striker.

Yarklad: it isn't looking good for you. Should have stuck with Gary Mills.
Although we are still not safe... 6 pointer for us on Friday away to Barnet, who we rarely beat at Underhill.
-
• #78242
Yeah I know and agree re Mills. I hope you smash them.
Cresswell is the only ray of hope for me at the moment but I'm getting mad de ja vu from back about a decade and a feeling like i'm watching us slide back into oblivion...

Quite a lot of your other fans think that too. Will be a great shame if you do go down, although there will be some great opportunities for trolling.

David Conn on the rise of Watford and their Italian owners.

Does Watford's rise mean that Zola's stock as a manager is on the up?
-
• #78245
^ good luck to them. It's an achievement gelling so many loanees together and how long do players stay at any club on average? Too much romantic bullshit in football clouding reality. Watford play good football, that'll do me
