The finish on Drury street is epic.

I've seen you struggle with the Drury Fury speed bumps.
That said, waiting for Corny to finish his fried chicken is a fair call.

It's not the only time and you know that.
The thought of riding, "en masse" through London is not appealing. Especially if you and Joe are navigating to Arsenal and Spurs. Again.
Or waiting for you to finish your breakfast. Or anything like that really.
My evidence for my position has been given, and I would like to further add additional evidence from the bridges ride we were both on.
but the football ride is much faster ... well it would be if corny didn't stop for a full fried breakfast half way round

it was corny wasn't it ?
sorry if it wasn't

Clive I know like most lawyers you never let the truth get in the way of bending the facts to serve your purposes.
But let's be clear, as much as I enjoy the football journalists the guardian employs, I've never been an apologist for lineker, loved him as a striker for spurs, fond memories of him in the 86 and 90 world cups, but his televisual stylings leave me cold.
Also if that's the most you can say about my football predilictions then I'm touched as your penchant for conspiracy theories, wild accusations, blind loyalty and ingrained belief that Chelsea are a stylish team, push you to the very edge of the lunatic margins of football society. With the scary thing being within the Chelsea enclave of season ticket holders you sit with, you are the voice of reason..
Sorry, is that Linekar's perspective on tthe subject?

Sounds like Corny... "Don't touch my chips!"
Sure it wasn't just a p***ture?
-
• #74434
I believe, as I wasn't on the first one, that the ride stopped for refuelling. Which went on for some time.

In summation: I rest my case for meeting you at the pub.

Riding bikes thread >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
-
• #74437
Gives me an excuse to build up a non polo bike, I haven't done a forum ride in a long time.
-
• #74438
Er. Don't lump me in with Mike.
The reasons I'm saying "no" to the ride:
1) it's in central london
2) it's going to be busy
3) if it's a saturday, I'll be fucking TRAINING.
4) riding my bike through town, on fixie skidders, at no pace, dodging traffic, breathing fumes, and generally wondering "why the fuck am I not out somewhere nice" and "fuck me, why are people struggling "up" this "hill"" do not equate to "bright times and sunshine". However, drinking a beer with you all afterwards and watching football, while slagging off Mike, does appeal. You've obviously never been on a ride with me :) I don't struggle up hills. >>>>>>>>>>>>>

i've never been last up a hill either
well apart from the time i raced jos and lpg on the thursday nights swains lane challenge
got whipped by the both of them

You don't go on forum rides either, not for some years.
Riding with mikec is one of the scariest things I have done in lycra.

this would equate to you not being allowed out and your bike being used as a clothes horse?

You putting the lycra on, in the first place, is scary enough for the rest of us

I'll hold my hand up for the refueling stop, who knew it would take so fucking long to get a couple of bacon sarnies..
@Chalfie, I know you're on the bike more than most, and generally longer as well, but I can be as bolshy and combative as you wanna be, I just choose not to. I'd rather be out on the bike with people I haven't seen for a while, on any ride I can, and riding randomly in traffic with other randoms is fun (occasionally).
Anyway back on topic

Can we move the riding chat to the bike ride thread and get back to footy what we read about in the guardian?
EG. Beckham having a try out for Chelsea on Tuesday.

^^ it was a full fry up not just a bacon sarnie
you left 20 eager twitching cyclists on the pavement while you sat in the window with the candle on the table the napkin tucked into your shirt and a full fry up on the table in front of you ... and it was only supposed to be a quick beer / piss stopwe had to amuse ourselves with backwards circles and track stands for over 20 mins ( oh and the occasional skid )

ha beckham to chelsea
no wonder they are trying to get rid of the higher wage earners like terry / lamps and cole ... so they can afford lord beckham of beckenham -
• #74447

-
• #74448
His kids are in the harrovian school aren't they?
He won't play again, he's aware of that. Surely? It'll be "can I come along and train with you? and keep fit. thanks".
-
• #74449
He could still do a job at West Ham or perhaps Millwall
