In relation to AVB and the comparisons with Brendan Rodgers, Spurs are starting from a higher base, better squad of players, more stability (at least in ownership), better league finishes, and all he has to do is in reality is not fall too far away from fourth. As much as the fans would like to see us challenge for the title, this is a season to hold what we have and bed in a new manager and a new way of playing.

To a certain extent not having a glorious history stands us in good stead, as it isn't weighing us down. Though the media's decision to write the story for AVB which I've spoken about before is a rod for his back, and will cause problems when/if we hit a difficult patch.. Also AVB's reputation needs rebuilding otherwise we wouldn't have got him, whereas Rodgers went to Liverpool as the new young saviour.
