  • one of the greats ^

  • I was behind that goal. Had to applaud, amazing finish.

  • some years ago I volunteered to run the girls football team at a primary school I was working at. I did it for a year and it was one of the most heart warming experiences. Previously I had run the boys team at another primary school and although we enjoyed ourselves it was basically 15 boys all throwing hissy fits and losing control of their tempers etc whenever the slightest thing went wrong. The boys found it almost impossible to concentrate during training and approached drills as competitions to prove what they could do. The girls by contrast turned up for training and were immediately focused on listening and learning and approached drills as a time to improve and get better. During matches the girls would often praise the opposition and encouraged each other no matter how poor a pass was etc. The boys found it hard to control their emotions and felt let down by any poor play by their own team. For the girls it was sport and to be played fairly. For the boys it was life and death. Needless to say i enjoyed my time with the girls a million times more than the boys.
Watching the Olympics, the women's football, and just about every other sport it is striking how different it is to the male leagues in football. Nobody argues with the refs, nobody dives, nobody chest beats or squares up to each other in a preposterous attempt to look hard. I'm really impressed with women's football and all other sports in the Olympics. it really shows male football to be a bit pathetic.

  • @Andy - why were you playing at wembley again? was it due to the size of highbury?

  • Yes. They could get 76k at Wembley, just 36k at Highbury (due to Uefa restrictions).

From a football perspective it was an utter failure, they lost two and drew one I think, but the size of the crowds conviced the waverers on the board that there was enough demand to build the new stadium so in that respect, it was a success.

  • General Motors have signed a 7 year $550m shirt deal with Man U.

    That seems alot.

And the guy at GM who agreed it was sacked last Sunday. Confused.

  • Two more weeks to go until start of what could be a great season
Three weeks before our hopes are dashed again

  • Rodgers’ 39-year-old father was dressed in a smart blue suit with brown shoes as he listened to the proceedings.

Important piece of journalism there. If Dogleash was in court he would've probably turned up in that dirty fucking training jacket that he never seems to take off.

  • Didn't stop Brighton beating us 3-1 today.

  • We spanked Villa 3-1 today too

Pre-season form means nowt, unless you're Villa

  • Sturridge >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

  • Sturridge did the right thing. Mickey Mouse tournament. Get back to your day job.

  • Shit pen, bottled it

  • 6 gold medals today, up steps some nimrod from Chelsea and >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

  • Indeed..

    1. He was GB's leading scorer.
    2. Just recovering from viral meningitis. Could have done a Bale but didn't.
    3. If Ramsay hadn't missed a penalty during the game, this would not have happened.
  • What's with this island and penalties?

  • such shit.

  • What's with this island and penalties?

    Munich 19 May 2012.

  • LOL Footballers are such a bunch of donkies.
While the proper athletes are winning medals left, right and centre, these cunts couldn't score in a brothel >>>>>>>>
It actually put a smile on my face when we missed

  • This is fine for so many reasons:

    1 Who gives a fuck?
2 Who ever supported GB at football?
    3 See1
4 Now we can watch the proper olympics without football being a dick, elbowing its way in and showing off its earrings
5 South Korea has a little bit more history than 'Team GB'
    6 see 1111!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
7 Fuck off football, take your oil, we'll call you when we need you

  • I'm surprised John Terry wasn't sitting next to Macca in the velodrome
