  • And how is singling one person out for abuse CliveO any less offensive than saying Wossy?
You really are in a pickle today

  • i agree with you 100% now add in the fact that the players didn't play so they could get him sacked and you have 100% fact.

Not sure I can do that. If I look to my bench and see players that I know are better than what is on the pitch and I'm told to sit deeper than Kate Aidie then I think my shoulders would slump. Given the bloke didn't stand up for the team and thinks losing to your mong neighbours 2-0 was "the best performance of my tenure" then the "witings on the wall".

  • The fact that I can be certain proves 100% why the PL is a long long way from being the best league in the world. It's not even the best league in the fucking country, FFS.

    Next in amazingly safe statements:
Barca and Real to finish in top 2.
    Celtic to finish above Rangers.

    etc and so on.

I don't think you'll find anyone on here singing the virtues of the EPL, not the PL (it's in TEH RULEZ - have you seen these yet??) , for open competition.

  • Cliveo. Stop with the aliases.

  • Bet accepted. Keep in touch on this one.

Singling out cliveo is not offensive to anyone but him and those fools who would say I am wrong. And I don't care about him / them.

    I find it offensive

By saying I am in a pickle you seem to be implying that I am failing to be logical and consistent, yet I have been criticised here for taking things too seriously, which makes me think that is you who is in a pickle for seeking to apply a logic and consistency which you don't want applied.

Eh? How does me implying you are having a logic fail and lack consistency in your arguments equate to me being in a pickle because you have been criticised for taking things too seriously?

I think you need to read a couple of books to clear your mind of any confusion.
I would start with Descartes Discourse on Method and move onto Gilbert Ryles a Concept of Mind. They should help

  • Cliveo. Stop with the aliases.

    What are you implying?

  • I think the EPL (E defined for the benefit of our foreign readers), is the best league in the world.

So the top 6 is predictable. Who gives a fuck. I don't watch matches and get annoyed because Arsenal are once again in the top 4. I want to see exciting football, great players, great skills, and lots of goals, and there was lots of that last season.

Any of the top eight or so teams can beat each other, and sometimes by huge margins, that sounds pretty exciting to me.

Obviously "best" is subjective, I choose to define it by seeing the best players, the most goals, the most skillful moves, etc. Clearly you define it by predictability Jeez.

  • What the fuck has happened here today?

  • I would, and will, argue with you on point 7.

There was a predictability to the league in the 70s and 80s. Liverpool, I'm sure you are aware of them, won it. Full stop. With the odd win by Arsenal and another. Everton? Leeds? With United tilting and failing.

In the 90s-10s it has been Utd. With Chelsea and Arsenal. With Liverpool tilting and failing.

People do not care for unpredictability, I'm trying to remember the article (try the guardian), people want to see other teams getting turned over. That's what keeps them coming back.
The goals per game in this country hasn't really fallen has it? It's currently about 2.7
    http://soccer-europe.com/Statistics/Goals/GPGEuro.html
It's actually increased! From 2.6 to 2.7. Well. Blow me down.

So that's one point your opinion has been argued with, one that we've factually shown to be false.

Point 3 and point 4 are opinion.

    Point 2 is good though.

    Edit:
and point 6. (hard of reading)

  • Like that stats website "Chalfie". If it's goals you're after we should be following the Bundesliga and the Eredivisie. I bet those leagues have also got some of the least predictable outcomes over the years, AZ, Bayern, Schalke, Bayer, Twente have all cacked it on the final day of the season IIRC.

Soccernet has started to build a good data warehouse http://soccernet.espn.go.com/stats/_/league/eng.1/year/2010/barclays-premier-league?cc=5739
if/once the historical data gets added this will be my go to place.

  • That website stops at 2009-10 season though.

  • But it's a nice clean overview with easy readable tables for the top 6 competitions.

  • When it's about obscure business Cliveo is always there...

  • But he's very genuine on that, he never lie. He's an honest man.

  • I mean he never lie to others, only to himself. He's genuine, I told you.

  • Manuel Preciado has passed away a day after agreeing to take on the job at Villareal. He was quite a colourful character http://m.guardian.co.uk/ms/p/gnm/op/sUosQHkbvmhFFNHjKFQCT6A/view.m?id=15&gid=football/2012/jun/07/manolo-preciado-villarreal&cat=football

  • cliveo excluded because he is the biggest pwick on this thwead).

    Ftfy

  • Oh fuck. BBC mobile s(h)ite has changed as well.

  • I wonder if Jeez is going to fly over and tell them all off. I heard this was one of Platini's ace up the sleeve anti -racism strategies.

    Fucking hell. Disgusting

I know, the lay out of that website is appalling isn't?

  • Is anyone actually surprised about this?

  • Modric to Utd
