Who would you suggest? Many weren't happy at the circumstances in which Rafa left given the battles with the owners that nearly obliterated the club. I would say Rafa is one of the few that I reckon could still attract descent names from the continent.

Clive - the Community Shield is beiong played at Villa Park this year. It will of course not be featuring Liverpool FC as is now traditional.

Trouble at the Bundesliga Relegation/Promotion playoff between Hertha Berlin (Bundesliga) and Fortuna Düsseldorf (2nd division).

When Düsseldorf went 2-1 ahead (4-2 on aggregate) the Düsseldorf fans throw flares and rockets onto the pitch.

The players tried to clear it up

Hertha got one back with 5 minutes to go, and needed just 1 more goal to stay up. In the last minute (the 7th minute of injury time) the Düsseldorf fans invaded the pitch, ending up with both sets of fans firing more flares and rockets, and one guy even digging up and stealing the penalty spot.

Finally after 20 minutes they got the game under way again, the score stayed the same, and after the final whistle the pitch got invaded again, and the goals got taken apart.

Unsurprisingly Hertha have protested the result.

While I can imagine it's a very exciting way of deciding relegation and promotion, it is asking for trouble to have so much depend on one game.

I'm a big fan of that system though really. Can't blame Fortuna Düsseldorf fans getting a bit excited, it's been a while and they've come through some really tough times.
