  • Thanks Wigan. We just have to beat QPR at the weekend and things will look very interesting.

    RDM

    stylish

Yep even more so if Arse loose at the weekend too.

  • Be seeing you premier cunts in here next season then, UURRRZZZ!

    You're a premier cunt.

Being Oxford born and bred I should probably hate you and the team you support. Luckily I'm a plastic...

  • has anyone heard any of the 20 minutes of ranting by mostly mad paulo di canio ( yes yes i know about his personal loss this week so he does have some excuses ) after last nights game
heard snippets of it on R5 last night
that man is a loon ... imagine having him as a boss, you wouldn't know if you are coming or going

  • Germans are the archetypal plastics. Watched the Bayern game last night with a few people who I'd watched the Bayern-Dortmund game with last Wednesday, when they were all dying for Dortmund to win. As soon as it's a German team in a European competition, they're all fierce fans again. TV is even worse. If you think English Champions League/football coverage is ridiculous and biased, well it is, but last night after the game their pundits were Franz Beckenbauer (ex-FC Bayern, current honorary president), Phillip Lahm, and then Jupp Heynckes. The presenter spoke of the 'euphoria' they were all feeling, and when they asked Lahm about his defending for the Madrid goal, he sort of smiled awkwardly and gave them a look, and then they dropped it again. Then they asked Özil if despite being on the losing team, he was still happy because his national team captain had set up the winning goal. That's almost chevron worthy.

As one of the guys who was there last night put it, football definitely brings out the inner nationalism that Germans still have!

  • ^^ Loon? Totally. Horrible little Nazi goon.

Good result for the City, good game last night.
We're nearly safe now. Bit of a nail-biter, think we'll make it.

  • Jaw listening to the world football podcast you posted up, but the cottonmouthed, bunged nose presenter is definitely making it hard work...
Christ I've been spoilt by football weekly...

  • 'Few players are so good at playing when they haven't got the ball,' said Pep Guardiola, above, of the Barcelona winger Isaac Cuenca.

    Whut ?

  • positioning and movement to pull the oposition out of shape, create space for your fellow team mates..is that what he means or is Isaac really good at imaginary keepy ups

  • Dicki, the other side of football, closing down, harrying, winning the ball back, taking up a position, covering the full back, keeping the teams shape, tactical discipline, making sure even though you're doing all of the above, you are still available for the outlet pass.. etc etc etc..

  • Also El Clasico is on Saturday night, Kick off 7pm, whose in?

  • corny have you ever managed a team ?
i would love to listen in to a few of your team talks before sending the South London U11's out into battle
what was the name of the website you look at for tactics / formations / data
must have a look and educate myself about footie a bit more

  • i would love to listen in to a few of your team talks before sending the South London U11's out into battle

"Right you lil fuckers... no messing this week. Jimmy, you kick the shit out of the big lad they have in the middle. Billy, keep have lil digs at the ginger kid, he will lose his temper, and get sent off.

Marlon, you dive proper, like Ashley Young, when the ref can't see and will be be 1 up at half time and them down to 10 men. Free cigs at half time if we are 2 nil up... "

Ready hands all in the middle GOO CUUUNTS

  • come come now it's not spurs he's coaching

  • And after the game he jumps in the bath with them naked shaking up a bottle of fizzy vimto, before chasing them around the dressing room and whipping their bare arses mercilessly

  • oh so it is Spurs ?

  • Not heard it but my opinion is that even if he got two promotions in a row, took charge of a club like Reading and kept them in the PL 3 years running, moved onto Everton and got them in the Europa League I would not want him anywhere near my club. The guy is an utter nut-job and a racist twat to boot. Actually, maybe he isn't a racist but he does hold deeply fucked right wing political views. He is a fucking car-crash waiting to happen.

Anyone who would want him managing their club is completely insane.

He'd do well at Anfield then :)

  • Cornelius - you're not wrong there but Tim Vickery is the equivalent of Sid Lowe for South American football, it's probably the only reason why I listened to it, he's one of my favourite football journalists. He's the Wisden of South American football and his passion for the game is infectious.

The presenter on the other hands is tedious as anything. Football weekly is a lot easier to digest but that Fernando Duarte rubs me up the wrong way, a certain someone would probably call him a twerp or twunt.

  • The logic of "the only aim of sport is to win therefore if something helps to achieves that it's ok" is stupid, as it permits anything from diving to bribery.

  • Maybe 2 years ago .. his form has dropped since then. I don't think he wants to be at Inter, he was pining for a move to Madrid last season .. Sagna is probably in with a shout of top 5.

Are you mad? Victor Moses completely outclassed him on monday night!

  • Yeah he had a bit of an off day. Happens to the best of us!

  • Lionel Messi thought ‘Gary Cahill’ was just a turn of phrase

    http://fourfourtwo.com/blogs/backofthenet/archive/2012/04/18/lionel-messi-thought-gary-cahill-was-just-a-turn-of-phrase.aspx

“I asked Cesc [Fabregas] if he remembered him from the Premier League and he said he thought ‘Gary Cahill’ was just an English phrase," Messi explained. "You know, something like ‘with all due respect.’”

All that and still nowhere near as big a cunt as Harry Redknapp.

  • Thought the ref did good. Well done Howard Webb.
