I have to admit - and i love seeing Libpool and the spuds lose.. but neither team are playing badly.
Spurs have had the rub all year, players have been on form, OGs have been going in for them, pens their way etc etc we all hit purple patches theirs is just at a bad time but i still fancy them to steal 4th. they have played some of the best football this season, weak at the back but parker has sured that up and given them a platform to get forwards in numbers.. this wont happen next year, people have sussed it out.
Liverpool create allot but have no composure in front of goal and tactically can't keep it tight in the middle. Look at the players they have and i'd say King Kenny is getting the best out of them. they have lacked any shape since Alonso and Macha left.
Rogers is a good manager but he is building on what Martinez started.. who FWIW is a top manager. If Liverpool had the balls they should stick him in and give him 3-5 years to re-shape them. if you look at Wigans squad the the money they have he has done wonders keeping them where they are.

Good news.
Love thei RVP article
Oh Robin, with your salt and pepper-flecked temples and your eyes; dark, wild and darting, like two endless pools of Castrol sump oil. Your left foot: cultured and versatile. Your right foot: used mainly for standing on. You lovely, lovely Dutchman. I just want to peel off your skin and climb inside you. Y’know? Wear you like a babygro…

Like I said in #54265
All you cunts were screaming for Kinky to be appointed and he's done the square root of fuck all but there are STILL bellends that have everyone else to blame but him!
The longer he stays the better, ideally bringing in Souness as his #2
Graham, unless you saw the kind of 'football' Woy had us playing then it is understandable as to why he was the man wanted- lest you forget the form he showed when he took over which would have been second (obviously minus any real pressure). The rate we were going before that we'd have been relegated under him. To say KK has done fuck all is lazy, with the recent Arsenal game being pretty typical of our season. As I said KK's fault are far easier remedied than those of Rafa or Roy. We've broken one record at least: hitting the woodwork. S'all about fine margins innit. I think the off the field shenanigans have really disappointed more than anything else (well that and Henderson getting played on the right).
Overall there's little to worry about; when you take over a job you just need to do what the old regime did well and improved where they fucked up. It's not rocket science.
I wouldn't go getttin too confident as Moyes getting off would leave Everton as much of a poison challis as Fargie's. Difference being you'd be operating at least ten places below them.

Said it already. I'd rather that than an older established manager but do the owners have the patience to give a new guy the proper time needed?? YOu say keeping it tight in the middle but we totally dominated you both games this year in the middle.

i am now firmly under the belief there is a curse on anfield
the next time we will win the title will be in our new stadium
some old irish gypise cursed the stadium when we forced her out of her house when we were buying up the streets around anfieldcurses

Liverpool's position is easier than Chelsea's. Freed from the need to qualify for European competitions, they could afford to allow a young manager to build over a number of years. The only constraint would be a need to avoid relegation which anyone with Liverpool's resources should be able to achieve.
Chelsea have to qualify for the Champions League and so cannot be so relaxed. A pity as AVB might, possibly, have gone on to do great things.

AVB will go on to do well, just such a shame he and chelsea did not work together, I have a feeling AVB will come back to haunt Chelsea in the Future.

ahmen to that. very good manager that knew what he wanted... also makes the position of chelsea manager about as attractive as Rooneys interpreter.

Not so. A change had to be made to ensure qualification. We could not rely on Spurs falling apart as they are doing. Too late for the transfer window and with players and manager not seeing eye to eye, the manager was the only movable part. The players have, by all accounts, been given a bollocking and it is clear that any new manager (or RDM) will be allowed a major clear out in the sumer of any players not willing to toe the line. We have witnessed the highpoint of power of player power, never to be repeated.

Not quite, we were very tidy in midfield with Lucas there, his absence has shown a significant dip in points. He's been a huge loss for us, we now have more players and are able to cope with it (not as well clearly)
Kenny wont seem to play hendo on the middle when Stevie G is on the pitch. SG needs to be pushed further forward imo
We were woeful at the weekend and now tuesday is huge.. losing 4 on the bounce and to those wankers as well will be a tough pill to swallow

Yes we've already qualified for europe this year

• #54243
Indeed but also Liverpool have no pressure to qualify during the course of next season either or in any other season. Mid table is good enough so long as they finish above Everton or, failing that, Tranmere.

Real hope for Tottenham. After taking Portsmouth and West Ham down, Grant prepares to replace 'Arry:

Which means there's hope for your lot to finish above them next season.

I'd suggest Chelsea may well finish above Spurs this season.

If Grant goes to Spurs then even we'll finish above them next season.

Mind you, the draw with Donnie had me hanging my head in shame.

Agree that a change had to be made, but mistakes were made by all parts of Chelsea regarding the whole sorry affair, no one comes out of it well, be it top brass, the manager or the players. I feel Just feel that AVB will have learnt from his mistakes in dealing with players and take this to his next post.

• #54249
One of AVB's problems with the longer serving players was that they had first met him when he was very young indeed and Mourinho's away scout. Sadly, the age thing appears to have interferred with his authority and players seemed unable to understand that he was in a very different position. He will not have that problem wherever else he goes.
