Respect to Capello for resigning. The FA have long been a bunch of self-deluding opportunists, less interested in the game than in their image, and as for the team....Christ, cut the crap, there hasn't been a good English team in years (decades) and no sign of one on the horizon either. By which I mean no matter the guff the pundits and armchair authorities spout, nothing happens of any worth.

Give Luis Aragones the England job. Him and JT'll get on like a crucifix on fire.
-
• #51060
Harry will get it. How do you think JT is gonna feel when he sees his old mucker Ledley leading the national side out for the first match of the EC?

Here we go . . .
They really insulted me and damaged my authority. What really hit me and forced me to take this decision was the fact the much-vaunted Anglo-Saxon sense of justice, as they are the first to claim that everyone is innocent until proven guilty.
In Terry's case, they gravely offended me and damaged my authority at the head of the England side, effectively creating a problem for the squad. I have never tolerated certain crossing of lines, so it was easy for me to spot it and take my decision to leave. -

He knows how shit we are so he gets to walk away, reputation intact and probably with what remains of his contract paid up in full without being tainted when we fail, again, at a major tournament.

-
• #51072
I think Pearce should get the job, he's done really well with the u21.
-
• #51073
I reckon 'Arry for the euros part time, Pearce is doing olympics then depending on that poss fulltime with 'Arry back to european fotty with spurs.
-
• #51074
Does it matter who gets the job as we'll still be shit?
Capello was one of the top managers in world football and yet he couldn't make England a tournament winning team. The entire structure underpinning English football is fucked, so no matter which chump is daft enough to take the job the team will continue to underachieve.
