Jaw it was a godawful decision, I'm no apologist for the "he's not that type of player" witterings, but that tackle was neither malicious or dangerous, reckless slightly, but if you go zero tolerance on all forms of tackling the game is poorer for it.
And that game overcame the idiocy of the ref's decision to actually still be compelling and close fought..

wow good weekend of footie
bad weekend for off the pitch matterscarrol scores torres doesn't class begins to show through style doesn't
more racism
liverpool v manure much happier to be facing them than city right now although we got city on weds with a few of their better players missing africa's cup and suspension it might be a more even game
kompany definate red card
all the talk of he got the ball and didn't get the player ... just imagine it the other way round getting the man with a double footed challenge and the closing speed was high
comparisons with spearing and rodwell red's earlier in the season
rodwells was overturned spearings wasn't -

Nice to see Fergie put his oar in about the Kompany tackle "he does it all the time, this time he got caught" the appeal will be interesting

What would the consequences have been hadn't Nani jumped up to get out of that tackle, my best guess is that he would now be nursing a broken leg. Two feet, studs up challenges ought to be eradicated from the game and IMHO the only way to do it is by sending off any player who goes in like that. I'm sure if the player in question (Nani) would have been Modric/Bale/vd Vaart your view would be slightly altered.

^^That is pretty much exactly what I was saying up thread. Which is why I said you had to read the report if you wanted to take an informed view on this issue.

Have to agree with the red face piss head here. He is a hatched man, like I said and has been doing this sort of thing for too long. That incident was probably not a red though. But who gives a fuck. United players are all cunts and do what they can to get their fellow pros sent off and or banned. I hope we fucking thrash them at Anfield though we probably won't

thats pretty much what i said above ^^ & ^^^ & ^^^^^^

It was definitely a red and they will hopefully get an extra day suspension if they appeal. Kompany is a very good defender and his absence will cost city points.
-
• #49213
Only in Britain there is a debate if a challenge like that is/isn't a red card, because "he got a touch on the ball", any other league it's a straight red and nobody would blink an eye because of it.
The sooner you get rid of the likes of Hansen/Townsend etc. the better, perhaps than the view of the general public would change.

LOL Looks like Rio has been reading this thread
"How can there be any debate about the red card? You leave the ground with a two-foot tackle = Red card. Fact."
I'm surprised he didn't capitalise it and put it in bold./

• #49216
i'm surprised he managed to spell " red " correctly

the 4 match as it stands means he misses both carling cup games against us and without the toure's out this presents us with a good opportunity (that and Downing might be in jail)
-
• #49218
Yes very true. What's Downing been up to then. Out on the piss with Carroll?
-
• #49219
Basically if you are a footballer, why are you out in Yarm?

So we've now got a racist, 2 wife beaters, and a golf maniac on our books (allegedly).
Stay classy...

We should never have sold all those nice Spanish boys. Especially the moral compass that is Alvaro Arbeloa.

• #49222
we need to recruit arbeloa to this here forum to replace BDW

Good point. They do seem to know how to behave themselves in a manner more befitting of a footballer. In England people are obsessed with getting pissed in shitty clubs, trying to get hold of women what looked like they have just stepped out of a fucking lego factory and then slapping them around if they don't agree to a bit of roasting

Maybe Kenny can encourage Downing to do something useful on the pitch by sticking a picture of Downing's girlfriend in th eback of the net.

If she didn't want to be beaten she should have dressed as a defender
Good decision by the ref today for sending off Kompany. The only way of stamping out two footed challenges whilst off the ground is by sending players off, no one wants to see their players getting injured by challenges like that.
