  • liverpool were good in 2005 when we won the CL...

Quite a shocking turn around in quality since then. Amazing that in only took 6 years (possibly less) to be as shit as you deny today.

  • ^^ One good thing; you know what you won't be doing on Tuesday evening next year.

  • granted it's no twilight, but I think you're being rather harsh on the film

so good that you had to go crying back to uefa to be let back in the next year...

that was the next season... but if we're going down that road, we qualified pretty easily unlike a certain team in blue.

  • Listen here fathead!: Are you really suggesting that you shouldn't be allowed defend your title?

And please remind me who it was that got the other Euro spot?

  • And how did they get on?

we finished 2nd fairly soon after, but selling Alonso really hit us hard.

Yes. Teh rulez were changed to allow you to defend (ha) it.

Don't be a fucnut. If you don't understand TEH FACTS, then just ask. The 05 team was fucking gash. The best team in recent times by far was 08-09, which, eventually crumbled under the stewardship of The hick and gillet.

  • marco, seriously, you can't be impressed with the design for the new stand. what is it with architects building hideous along our beautiful river.

It's not like the current riverside stand is a beacon of beauty. I think the plans to intergrate a new stand with the unique nature of the ground are good.

Jonny, what would you prefer? to create a mock victorian stand with fake wooden steating?

Awaits, Graham 'world of hate' Pistanator's response.

  • I though the best team was 78-84

And we made the final again 2yrs later. Would you rather the "nobodies club" club entered at the expense of the holders? Because that would have fucked the coefficient. Who knows fourth spot might not enough now....Something you may have to think about now Vidic is out.

    in recent times***

  • You'll be in the family section before long >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

    ...at The Emirates

    This! ^

    CUNTS!

The rule was stupid, but it was teh rulez. They should have stuck to them. The nobodies club had earned the right to be their, in accordance with teh rulez
If we don't make fourth then so be it. It sucks but we won't cry and demand a change in teh rulez.

well you didn't win it last year, so it'd be pissing in the wind.

  • oh in recent times...

    Manchester Utd 1999 or 2005... can't decide.

No in fairness. I would say that Liverpool have constantly been spiralling since the boot room finished. Fowler, Owen etc.

As the last remnants (Gerrard and Carragher), finally wane there is nothing left of that "history" that has always made Liverpool exactly what it is.

This might be an overly emotional and poetic way of looking at a football club, but as Roy Evan was so awfully dismissed, he walked away with everything that Liverpool symbolised. As every player has left they have become an ever diluted version of themselves. The Kop remains, obviously, but will Sebastian Coates ever know what it is to score in front of that Kop?

  • well you didn't win it last year, so it'd be pissing in the wind.

No, but we did earn our right to get knocked out early this year.

  • ^^ This is mostly as a question, rather than a poke in a scabby wound bytheway.

Genuinely interested in what you think about that - despite troll like utd quip.

  • Forca Benfica! Group winners!

  • so good that you had to go crying back to uefa to be let back in the next year...

That's not how it happened though.

UEFA left the choice of the qualifiers to the regional FAs

The FA rules were that the top 4 teams qualified, so Everton not Liverpool.

But they wanted Liverpool to be in, so they asked UEFA for an extra spot.

UEFA gave them that spot, but then changed the rules so that the champion had to be one of those qualifiers, at the expense of one of the other teams.

So if the situation happened again now, Liverpool would automatically get the spot at Everton's expense.

    ^This

deserved to top the group, played positively against ManUre and will be in with a shout to progress to the quarter finals.
