I know! Is there a chess thread?
Now that is a game I have never get to grips with. I find it almost impossible to make a decision based on what might happen 10 moves or years down the road :)And yet you support Liverpool in the hope that 10 years down the road they might, once again, win something?
-
• #39503
Ah but the pleasure I get from them in the present is enough to keep me clinging to that hope.
And remember. There is always history to fall back on :) -

Fashion, as you know Clive, is a youthful pursuit. Which rules me out.

When will they sack their sports scientists (if they have one). All those injuries can't just be down to bad luck, Saha is obviously prone to the odd injury or two a season but to have a full squad of injury prone players there must be another underlying reason.
Is that mad sweaty pushing his players too hard in training or are they training on tarmac?
Moyes let the physio MIck Rathbone go in 2010 whom he had worked with since his Preston days but the injuries keep happening and maybe he needs to look at his training techniques.

saha's always been weak as piss

Yep fair enough and Baines was one of two players to play in every game of the premiership last season. I'm pretty sure there isn't that much science though that goes into training football players. PLenty of money but not much science. Id bet more science goes into the food they eat than the exercises they do on the training ground.

Who have Derby got this weekend, could it be 5 out of 5?
We're at home to Burnley. A tough one to call, but selling off their best players hasn't helped Burnley so far this season.

How can Arsene, bemoan, Barca coming in cheap with their bid for Fabregas, then shove in an equally derisory bid for Cahill, Everyone knows he's got money, and everyone knows he needs to shore up his defence, everyone knows he's interested in Cahill, so why offer a reported 8 million, you know bolton aren't going to sell him for that, especially when the less accomplished, experienced jones went from blackburn for twice that, obviously factoring bonuses, and what not into that figure...
Just fucking man up and put in a proper offer, or is the offer there to appease the fans by saying, look we're trying, but they won't accept our money, oh well, we'll have to rely on the players I bought in previously..Same seems to be true for Spurs keep putting in bids for players and yet keep waiting for the selling club to get anxious and snatch the proffered money out of their hands. We've been stalling on that deal for that brazilian striker from Internacional for the whole of the transfer window, either shit or get off the pot.
God I hate the dreg ends of the transfer window. Identify targets EARLY, put in offer EARLY, negotiate terms, get the player you want. Use preseason to integrate players into the squad, rather than the early matches of the season, when you want to be getting off to a good start...

It should all be done and dusted before the first game of the season. Thay have long enough to sort out all the shit.
-
• #39512
If they moved the transfer window back to 1 August, it would be.

• #39513
Make it so, Clive.

God this afternoon is dragging. I can't wait to get to the pub. I had a bottle of lucozade to try and wake me up. I don't normally take caffeine or any stimulants and I feel like I am about to have a heart attack. I need a beer to calm my nerves

What is that red faced cunt on about now
"The FA may one day realise who has produced more players for their country than any other club in the world"
"They (the FA) treat us like s***,"
"Maybe they will get some joy from it at some point in their lives and realise how important we are to England." -
• #39519
I wish he would go back to the days when he wouldn't speak to the media (or anyone for that matter).
-
• #39520
The fact he says produced is nonense what it should read is bought from others. Fact is half the Utd grown players that have played recently for England have done so purely for playing for Utd and wouldn't have if they played for Wigan- Wes Brown, Kieran Richardson let alone Phil Neville getting over 50 caps.

Carrick wouldn't have any caps if he didn't play for Utd

really interesting small talk with pat nevin.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2011/aug/26/small-talk-pat-nevin
Think I may listen to his radio 5live programme as well. I also want to know why the last great enganche/trequartista that england produced was Matt Le Tissier, and how the great hope that was Joe Cole has been allowed to be frittered away..
-
• #39524
WTF is an 'enganche'?!? Y u no talk proper?
-
• #39525
Cole has never really been allowed to play in the middle, always pushed out to the left at Chelsea and for England
