  • Thing that's getting on my tits over the last season or so and more so lately in the media is the 'Big Four' has suddenly become the 'Big Six'
For years, all the papers and SSN had the top players from the 4 teams, club crests all over the place....not a dicky bird about Everton when we were top 5/6

    so true.

  • I'd have said something about Rodwell, but it would have been rehashed from the guardian. He wasn't that good.
As MG sez, it's easier looking good in a club team. i.e. Frank. Stevie. Wazza. etc.
When English is the seasoning of the team. Rather than the bulk.
    So to speak.

  • Pistanator & MG agree on something, who'da thunk it?

  • Or alternatively, that's what QPR's best player who had a not insignificant part in getting them promoted expects...not unreasonably. Do you really expect him to be grateful?

a spurs reject given a chance....Yes I'd expect him to be grateful* (just for a season in the world best shopping window).

  • He'll get found out, really quickly.

  • for a season in the world best shopping window

Did you just say that the Championship is the world's best shopping window?

  • This country will be fucked for a few more years before there's even a chance at recovery. The coaching techniques are laughable. It would take a generation to fix- assuming the correct moves were made. And I've not started on the mentality of 'fans' who would be up in arms at what they'd regard as tippy tappy shit and no lumping it up to the big man!!!

The worst part is when we've had really good leaders they've been ditched due to faceless FA egos yet we'd pay Capello £6M per year!

Venables had great spirit in that team as did Hoddle. Where are they now?

  • @JAW he's back in the prem, no?

  • Boas to Chelsea: £16M

  • @JAW he's back in the prem, no?

he sure is but to call the Championship the world's best shopping window is going way too far, it's a strong second tier, probably the strongest 2nd tier in the world, but the interesting part is that there are very few players who get the chance to step up to PL level and actually succeed. Jagielka is probably one of the best examples of doing well and David Nugent and a gazillion others doing not so well.

    Boas to Chelsea: £16M

It's all over tinternet at the moment, it'd be a coup, let's hope Hiddink comes as director of football.

  • I think the best way to get a winning side in the short term is to do exactly that.

Harbour a bunch of very talented teens, and cultivate them all together. Have them play week in week out together and let the "superstars" do their thing in the premiership.

A team will always be greater than the sum of their parts so just stick a team together.

Ditch a no hope, no support team like Wigan or Bolton and see what happens. If it doesn't work out, maybe the "superstars" will realise what they've missed and try a bit harder again.

  • Luís André de Pina Cabral e Villas-Boas with Gianfranco Zola as his No 2

Come on in Mr O. You got your man and it looks like Zola might be going to the poisoned chalice that's Inter Milan.

  • It'd be nice if the management of U-21s and seniors (and the media too) realise that just because someone signs for Liverpool or united for big money, does not automatically mean they are any good. Some of the journos on twitters sycophancy with regards to united players in the u-21s has been sickening.

    ^ This

I'd never heard of Henderson 'til last season and honestly never heard of Phil Jones 'til 2 weeks ago. Are they £15m+ players? I doubt it but if they were still at their previous clubs no-one would be giving two fucks about them

Based on this, if people are really prepared to pay £20m for Rodwell(who TBF, has done fuck all for a year) Moyes should snap their hand off and invest properly in a decent World Class striker....some-one like Carlton Cole or Kevin Doyle

  • Or get Jay Bothroyd on a free and pay him silly money.

  • Called the Villas-Boas thing a couple of months ago...

Lampard and Drogba will be older than their manager.

  • That assumes Lampard and Drogba are part of his plans.

Good appointment by Chelsea, always get a manager on his way up. It's just a shame that he'll be sacked in a year or two once Abrahamovich gets bored of him.

  • Lampard's got more important things to worry about now he's engaged to that Irish doris of the telebox

  • Have you got any stories about her?

  • What are the odds she likes it up the wrong 'un?

  • What are the odds she likes it up the wrong 'un?

She's Catholic so she's bound to take it up there

  • Oh dear

  • Oh dear

From experience ALL Catholics and Jews take it up the Gary

  • Ugh, I'd rather Gardner went back to Villa than Newcastle.

  • Fifa vice-president Jack Warner has resigned, world football's governing body has confirmed.

"As a consequence of Mr Warner's resignation, all ethics committee procedures against him have been closed and the presumption of innocence is maintained," said a Fifa statement.

Warner was suspended pending an investigation into bribery allegations.

Well that just about sums it up. Corrupt bunch of cunts!

  • That ^ is so fucking outrageous.

I hope some copper follows it up and he gets sent down. Their arrogance is breathtaking.
