Mark Hughes might as well get a job hearding cats with all the big egos they could end up with a City.
I think he'll be on to pastures new come the January transfer window.

Any particular reason ? Neither G Barry, Tevez or RSC of our confirmed signings seem particularly egotistical. Adebayor seems moody more than anything (and shite now he's leaving Arsenal), Terry is a different matter. He seems a right cunt (perfect Chelsea material clearly), the only thing I'd like about getting him is rattling Chelsea's cage.

The premier league is going to mad next year. Tottenham are gonna be full of OAPs. Man City I honestly believe will be fighting for the coveted 5/6 position with Everton and Villa. Hughes will be gone by Christmas for definite.
Man Utd will win it again, Arsenal will finish fourth again and it'll be between Liverpool and Chelsea for 2 and 3 again. Makes you wonder why we bother sometimes.

2nd or 3rd and you wonder why you bother ? FFS !
As long as City are around top 6, Hughes will almost certainly be staying. We ain't in the business of being a comedy club for much longer so sacking managers (unless we have a top notch replacement lined up) ain't what we do.
I'm not gonna write Utd off (been caight out too often), but if they think likkle Mickey is gonna make up for Tevez and Ronaldo, they might have to think again. They won a lot og games 1-0 last year so we'll see. Chelsea might be a surprise this season and poss win it. Liverpool will go backwards (still 3rd probably), Arsenal will find themselvesd dragged in with MCFC, EFC and possibly Villa for 4th - 7th.

Not really. 20 years of pain and all that crap. Then seeing those wankers equal our record last year. To be honest, finishing second is more painful than finishing fourth.
Everytime they sell their best players. People start writing them off and they get better and better. Than Italian kid Moorcehba or whatever his name is will probablt score 100 goals next season. I agree about Liverpool. we will probably not repeat what we did last season so yes 3rd is likely.

20 years of pain ?
1981 - the last time City reached a proper final
1976 - the last time we actually won anything. The only club of note worse than that is Newcastle, who may well get relegated again next year.

Didn't Man City win the Third Division (or whatever it was called back then) and promotion at least twice from the second division/Championship? All successes in my book.
Mike, don't despair too much about last season. Scholari was the reason why Chelsea screwed up the first half of the season and allowed the mancs to stroll away with it. Won't happen this coming season.

Also, many clubs have won nothing major in recent times. Fulham, West Ham, Aston Villa, Sunderland, Wigan etc etc. They all still have hope. They are all still proud clubs. Supporting a football side is not about always winning things but about the hope of winning and for enjoying each game as it comes. Only glory hunting plastic fans choose teams with "history" of winning. Now where's the fun in that? Where's the passion in that?

??
what are the questions marks for?
the only reason tevez has gone to city is because no one in their right mind would offer him one hundred and fifty grand a week. that doens't mean to say i think he's a bad footballer, i think he's a great player for the right team, but is he worth that much money? course he's not. the worst part is you're going to great a completely unsustainable market for yourselves. city have only signed one big player and if the papers are going to be believed the whole eto affair is going to happen again and again until you get smart with yr cash. -

You loose Javi and Mascha and you are fighting for 4th, outside of Gerrard they are your best players
Fergie has Nani and few other little tricks up his sleeve but even on a bad day Ronaldo would pull something out the bag. he destroyed us in the european cup.
I can't see City doing that well, they have no defense or keeper, their midfield got more structure towards the end of last season but you need a solid back 4. they are a long way from that, keeper is a bit suspect but i hope they buy Adebayor.. please do it.. PLEASE!
I think Arsenal will surprise a few people next year, we look the most stable out of the top 4.
And a lot of players should be peaking soon, just need a good spell without injuries and we could get in the top two, Wenger has had political issues and money worries, but given the football to focus on he can get that squad back and in contention at christmas. we haven't got what it takes to win it this year but we will be deeper in there than last year! -

so bellamy, tevez, RSC, Robinho, Elano, Benjani, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Felipe_CaicedoJo (although out on loan) and essentially Ched Evens as well.
how many people do you need up front?
-
• #3623
Jo on loan, Benjani and Evans will be sold. Elano is a midfielder. We'll have
Adebayor, RSC, Robinho, Tevez, Bellamy, Bozhinov and Petrov competing for wide/attacking positions.

it will be interesting to watch the city experiment develop. Hopefully you don't beat arsenal though. But the prem needs a shake up. I hope terry does go to Man city as i hate chelsea. I want to see them crumble as the russian loses interest and wants his money back! I liked hughes at blackburn but i can see these stars all being abit to big for marky boy. Mr mourinho will be lined up and put into place next season if hughes fails big..
i still think arsenal should of stuck somone like fatboy johnson or richards in on an exchange plus cash for ade?

I know it's only a friendly but the richest club in the world full of overpriced, moneygrabbing, ambition lacking, egotistical millionaires have just been beaten 2-0 by a load of no-marks from Johannesburg
