Fair enough.
As I understood it, players were free to talk to any club within the last 6 months to the year of their contract, as you say the Bosman.
it still remains that the Pienaar signing wasn't tapping up.
*goes off to read pay as you play

I wish people wouldn't keep sending me links like this one:

Arsenal are not a glory hunting side seeking silverwear. Mid table safety and beautiful football is all their management and supporters crave.

Errrr Aaron Lennon from Leeds. Derisory bids to unsettle players are Spurs speciality.
(more of club policy than Redknapp policy)
No, there speciality is obtaining these players as you say and turning them to tripe.

Monday - Modric hands in transfer request
Wednesday - Modric signs for Chelsea for roughly £30m

He said that he wouldn't hand in a transfer request out of respect for the club.
It's a major power struggle now. It's like Berbatov all over again. We'll see how it comes off.
Levy's laid the cards down. Chelsea should back off. They should work on getting a manager first?
Where does Modric fit into a 4-3-3 built on brute force?

Modric - I don't want to ask to leave but I do want to leave to Chelsea
The question is if he's leaving because he wants to john an ambitious side why is he joining Chelsea? Every time they get close to doing something Roman messes it up

Thing that's getting on my tits over the last season or so and more so lately in the media is the 'Big Four' has suddenly become the 'Big Six'
For years, all the papers and SSN had the top players from the 4 teams, club crests all over the place....not a dicky bird about Everton when we were top 5/6NOW fuckin Libpool aren't a top 4 team anymore they've still managed to incorporate them within this new 'Top 6'
Oh hang on, the media is full of middle-class Kopite twats!
-
• #35997
Theres nothing wrong with being middle class my dear.

What, gays...in football?
That's not the last year of your contract, it's after two years of your contract if you are over 28, or 3 years if you are under, and it's actually Fifa Article 17, the Webster ruling was simply a courts interpretation of that. In addition it still requires the player to pay the remainder of their contract, so there would be some argument as to whether you can negotiate with another club before you have bought yourself out of your own contract.
However, while some players have used it, it's never been used for a high profile transfer.
What you can do is negotiate with 6 months to go, that's the Bosman ruling.
