I can see Terry Butcher there. Coyle won't go for obvious reasons, Mark McGhee maybe. Mowbray would like to try and get West Brom back I'd've thought....
I hear Souness is still looking?! ;-)

Would that be ex-Rangers captain Terry Butcher? Who was prosecuted for starting a fight while playing in an old firm game? Oh, and who just got ICT relegated? :D
Mark McGhee came very close to going to Hearts last year, when Mo'well hit third, and didn't by all accounts because Strach, a close friend of his, assured him he'd be a shoo-in for the Celtic job when GS left. But that was then. He's a bit shit, really.
Coyle's a massive Celtic fan. Only reason he would come. So it's still diminishingly unlikely...but the best of the possible bunch, for me.

No offence but no-one other than a sweaty is gonna manage a Scottish team, Terry Butcher excluded

Mowbray was at Hibs. And Coyle's from Glasgow! But yeah, I don't think he'd go.
Scottish managers are none too shabby anyway, right? :)

Today I co-wrote a speech introducing the president of UEFA, for some black-tie do in Rome tonight.
He's called Platini - is this where the famous scouse-baiter gets his username from?
-
• #2988
I hope you introduced him as a bitter English hating tool, who can't open his gob without spouting some anti-Premiership nonsense?
-
• #2989
he's right though.
-
• #2990
He was also one of the most talented players the world has ever seen. Sheer genius.
-
• #2991
yeah well, I suppose there is that too. But many said the same about Gazza, and look at him now!

If I'd known (before this lunchtime) that I'd be doing it, I would have come on here and asked for some good in-jokes.
Might have been difficult to work in "bitter English hating tool" without creating a diplomatic incident, though.

are we talking about the footballer or the forumenger?

in other news:
champions league final tomorrow.
anyone?
i mean, the sandwiches at the rose and crown are good. but if there's a better option... -
• #2995
A better option for me is to go to HH and forget about the whole wretched thing. I cannot bring myself to watch those wankers possibly win it again. The first team to ever successfully defend the title if they win it, according to most of the media. Of course they forget what we did in 1978 and what Madrid, Milan, Ajax and Bayern have also done. Cunts.
Im not bitter

to defend the champions league.
they would be the first.
to defend the european cup (big cup) they clearly aren't. -

It's gonna piss down with rain tomorrow and i am avoiding drink, combine those two and you have a recipe for me not watching it. Utd have the stronger team, Barca play the better football. Utd will stop Barca but i can see it being nothing special... next year when the Arsenal are there.. will be better

got to admit i am a huge fan of that angry flame haired tracksuit clad piss head. the injuries he had at the start of the second half really showed his class.
This year it was a close call between him and Hodgson, with Pullis deserving a shout.
Gordon Strachan resigned from Celtic this afternoon, for anyone interested in the SPL at all.
Favourites to replace at the moment include Coyle (presumably not now he's EPL headed...though still hearing it's a possibility), Mowbray, McGhee, and Levein.
....
I know. Exciting list, isn't it.
