2-2 seems a tad optimistic pisti, Shoots, Milan have injury worries as well, no prince -boateng, no inzaghi, no pirlo, cassano whose been the engine of their recent run of form cuptied. But they've still got Robinho, Pato and Ibrahimovic up front so not an easy night for our defense.
Seems we'll be playing the big lad upfront to unsettle them, with VDV, if he's fit looking for the knock downs. Fingers crossed Crouchinho's european record stands him in good stead and he knocks a couple past them.
Not going to guess the score, just keep my fingers crossed we play well, don't fall asleep during the first thirty mins, and we nick an away goal.I'm gonna be in the Coach and Horses from 7.30 for anyone who'd care to join me biting my nails..

We're all middle class now.

Bill, i can understand why you, as an Arsenal supporter, might like rugby. It leaves me cold. All the recognition of the other side's good play, all the lack of passion and hatred, all the boozy jolly ritual before internationals, all the games decided by penalties with no hope of a try, all the aspects of jolly fat chaps waving their penises around in rugby clubs and on tours. It is all a bit Emirates.

What was the deal with singing Liverpool's Torres chant? That was a bit embarrassing
to be honest. Irony everywhere.NO irony. They're fucking idiots.
I could find the melt fans bemoaning the PR dept embarassing them on some meltish chlesea forum but I wont. The same dept that get them 'those' flags on their big nights?

Still bitter MG? Wait until we get him fit and then you will be really upset.

I'm not even confident we'll make 4th Clive. Getting Torres fit is the least of our concern. He hasn't been fit, for what, 15 months? What happened to the Drogba of earlier this season when he was terrorising opponents and banging goals in for fun?
They say you can't become a bad team overnight but Chelsea are doing their best to do just that.

all the lack of passion and hatred,
You haven't watched much French club rugby. Boy!

Rugby is a great sport. What's your problem with it? Too middle class?
The best description of rugby I've heard is "one man trying to push two men's heads up three men's arses".

Still bitter MG? Wait until we get him properly fit and not make him play whilst carrying an injury - then you will be really upset.
fixed.

At least in Rugby it's none of that silly handbags like they do in football, when they square up punches will get thrown and scrotums will get yanked.

on the positive David Luiz looks a great addition.

Chelsea are too static at the moment. Especially for playing a 4-3-3.
Maluda should be be looking to drop in between the midfield and defensive lines and then play a ball forward. Ray Wilkins made a good point that every chance Torres got was on his left last night. However, at £50 million I'd expect the player to be able to use both feet.
David Luiz was much better when he was playing at right back. Him and Cole gave Chelsea loads of width, which I think Ancelotti is essentially aiming for with that formation. It was all too little, too late though.

Wilkins mentioned that Chelsea are far too narrow. He seemed to think that if the opposition push up against the full backs, keeping them back in their own half, Chelsea are unable to create anything at all down the flanks.

luiz is better centre back, its only coz Chelsea were going hell for leather for a winner and Fulham were trapped in it looked better as a right back...mind i think that Luiz is prop that good he could do both jobs if he wanted

Bitter?! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I'll leave that to the bluesI'll repeat again: I can handle him getting off esp under Woy's tenure but it was the manner in which he did it that wasn't cool and I feel showed disrespect to the fans who'd shown unwaivering love.
Your mob are embarassing copying the the gates to your identikit flag. I love the fact that you've got some "PR team" wearing supreme garments/trucker hats, who decided, 'lets make up a flag like the one we saw at Anfield in those CL games and maybe we could place PLASTIC blue flags on the seats so when the fans come in they can wave them around'. I'll even bet when they got the flag from the factory they said it looked, "REAM" hahahahahaha.
Then to top it off you haven't made up your own song but slightly reworked what we sang. Serioulsy, DO 1.I don't hate Nando. I am worried about him, none of that hanging on the last defender's shoulders knowing he could eat him for pace. When was the last time you saw him really open up, in FULL flight? Does he trust his body? Or is just a mental thing? You could have a poll of whom folk would currently rather have: Torres or Suarez&Carroll.

Exactly. Either Maluda drops back, and makes some space for himself in the narrow formation, or, Essien Drops back to cover Cole and Luiz (possibly) to go roaming further forward and creating width.
At the moment, they're flat, pedestrian, and an absolute doddle to nullify.
There's also the Arsenal, whogivesafuckaboutcover approach.

I wonder how much of the purchase was down to Carlo vs Roman? Looks to me like the manager needs to show some balls and drop someone of the front three and persevere with one formation and play into form rather than all three square pegs.

• #29496
Drogba didn't start last night, so that was one dropped.
Anelka and Maluda were supporting Torres, which is pretty standard. Anelka swapped with Torres at one stage, and then he went back into the middle.
I don't get your point...
-
• #29497
Didn't know he dropped Drogba. I thought he started like he did in the Liverpool game.

Bill - all of that passion is on the pitch not in the stands. Bit like the Emirates.

Fattist.
I was too small to play rugby. I was at a school where you were either in the XV or they didn't give a toss about you. As a consequence I gave up sport at about the age of 14 and didn't do anything until I started cycing at 49.
Three old boys of my school were in the English world cup winning squad.

Well, not strictly true. If the full-backs are across half-way, generally one of the two holding midfielders will stay, or both.
The defensive shape is sometimes a middle 4, with Song & Wilshere sitting in front of Djousnielsky.
Clive too middle class?
Don't make me laugh.
