Last season it was estimated by "Swiss Ramble" (an excellent blog for those of us who are interested in football finance) to be £50 million. After some spending in the summer, and an increase in the wage bill, it is likely to be around that now.
However, Wenger would much rather spend that on player wages rather than handing European or domestic rivals large chunks of his club's profits. This is why he waited for Chamakh's contract to run down rather than buy him from Bordeaux.

1306: An anti-transfer, of sorts. Oxford United's deal for winger Jennison Myrie-Williams has collapsed because of Fifa regulations. The U's signed the 22-year-old last week but because he has already played for two clubs this season (St Johnstone and Dundee United), the deal has been prohibited
One rule for most and another for Libpool!

Arsene Wenger would rather recall loanees, than sign an experienced centre half. This is when it is bloody hard work being a gooner.
Bloody hard work? With respect, bloody hard work was watching some of the absolute rubbish that I stood through in the 1980s. The worst was a game between Don Howe's Gunners & Venables' QPR. 46 offsides in the game.
We have the best stadium in the country, a great manager, numerous world-class players & an exciting style of play. I know you get the fans you deserve but...

It's two clubs in the same division the rule applies to, Konchesky played one game for Fulham I think, before he went to join Woy's Wevolution.
