  • that's even funnier than apppointing shearer. venables?

  • I agree, but a comedy club needs a comedy manager. In Venables defence, he has at least managed a team before. Shearer's experience is limited to coaching his daughter's school team. They got relegated.

  • a comedy club needs a comedy manager

Truer words were never spoken. Easy to sit there and be a very mediocre pundit/analyst but showing up and just being Alan Shearer is not the answer to everything.

I hope at the end of the season we can all say....

    "Where is your messiah now?"

  • Apparently Iain Dowie is going to be part of Shearer's coaching staff. So that's two big, ugly centre forwards, who's next? Mick Harford? Joe Jordan?

  • fuck, if it's mick harford. there will be some kickings administered.
    HARD.

  • Indeed. You wouldn't see Mick Harford administer a swift kick to Neil Lennon's face and then claim it was an accident and he was just freeing his studs.

  • Alan Shearer is one big shithouse and it'll be even sweeter if that cunt takes them down!

  • oi graham where were you for south beers anniversary, I was expecting incendiary comments and a ruck by the decks as you tried to take over and play some good ol' house.

also need to grab that 19t cog from you

  • +1 million.

  • This lad's got his head screwed on. Nice to see a bit of player loyalty too, not like most of the mercenary shitbags in the Prem nowadays

DR: Do you think you might have won more honours and recognition if you'd gone to a bigger club?
TC: Is the grass always greener? Is it the right situation for you and your family and you as a player? I feel that I am achieving a lot at Everton. It's unfortunate that I haven't won them big awards. But who knows? Maybe one day. But beating Liverpool is like winning an FA Cup. Once you've played for Everton and know what it is to be a Blue, then you know what it means to beat Liverpool.
DR: You've had good battles in the Merseyside derbies. Those games seem to really matter to you.
TC: Definitely. I hold the record with Dixie Dean for being the only Everton player to score three derby goals at Anfield. I still hope to better it. Things like that, the fans never forget. [Ex-Liverpool striker] Ian Rush said that games like that make you a legend and to me that means a lot more than going to a club and being part of a trophy but not really recognised.
DR: Would you ever consider a move to Liverpool if they came in for you?
TC: Never. Never, never. No money in this world could convince me to play for Liverpool. That's not a lack of respect for Liverpool supporters or the football club. It's respect for the Everton supporters. You just can't do that. It goes against everything that I stand for. No chance.

  • Cahill to Liverpool in the summer then for 10mil a year.

  • 'Once a blue always a blue' to quote Wayne Rooney.

  • Right... Liverpool vs. Chelsea on Wednesday night... Who's up for a central London rendezvous... I have a suggestion, the New Evaristo Club at 59 Greek Street, proper old Soho speakeasy... Tricia, the owner, is a proper Scouser (went to Istanbul, even bought flights to Moscow last season before they were battered by the mighty CFC in the semi-final! Hahahaha!) and it'll still be quiet at match time... Possibly...

  • Wayne Rooney doesn't even register to Evertonians

I've been in there I think, is that the little downstairs gaff few doors down from Kokon To Zai?

  • That's the fella, the blue door next to Kokon Te Zai, opposite The Pillars...

Talk about stating the bleeding obviously!

TC: Yes, its been my boyhood dream to play for the great Liverpool - Could you imagine?

  • That's the fella, the blue door next to Kokon Te Zai, opposite The Pillars...

I had a few drinks and good old chats in there too...

Unlike that cunt Barmby, he knows what it's like to play for Everton and that you NEVER cross the park

  • now we got the crap old guff out of the way
time to get back to proper footie
liverpool fulham ? will we get shafted like the mancs or can we do it
man utd get the reverse fixture can they beat villa by as many as we did
we could be top by sat eve and hopefully still top by sunday evening

  • 'We', 'we', 'we'....What's all this 'we' business? You're NOT from Liverpool, you have no affiliation to the club, you offer nothing to the club, how do you support the club?

    It should simply read:

now we got the crap old guff out of the way
time to get back to proper footie
liverpool fulham ? will LIVERPOOL get shafted like the mancs or can THEY do it
man utd get the reverse fixture can they beat villa by as many as LIVERPOOL did

  • That's crap. I reckon most people support the club that their Dad supports. If one's father is a scouser and moves away, his son would grow up watching his dad's team. Under your rules, graham, will your son not be allowed to be an everton supprter?

  • My Dad supports Liverpool and took me to Anfield first......I'd love my lad to support Everton but I ain't gonna force him - of course I'll take him to Goodison for his first game but like me, I made the choice having gone to Anfield and Goodison in the space of 3 weeks when I was 5yo. Wherever he's born I'd like to think he can make his own decisions, as long as the little cunt doesn't support Liverpool I wouldn't care
Funny you should bring it up though, I've been winding my Mrs up lately saying that if/when we have a nipper, we're going up to Liverpool near her due date so the kid has a right to support Everton! :-)

  • Well in Blackburn(although saying that, I'd love them to go down with that cunt Allardyce)....

Another nail in the Toons coffin

  • tottenham were all over blackburn, palacios never should have been sent off, but on the otherhand our penalty wasn't really a penalty, ball to hand rather than any malicious act.
Just shows when your in a dominant position you really need to kill teams off. Had a couple of decent attacks and no one got on the end of it.
Modric looks like he's coming into a good run of form, acclimatising to the premiership quite well, should be blinding next season,..
