Stopping in the run up isn't against the rules. Stopping at the end of the run-up is against the rules.

As long as you plant another foot (e.g. take another step) before kicking the ball then you haven't finished your run up.

Now, of course, you're left with the interpretation of whether Havertz (or Lewandowski) were at the end of their run up or not. But the rules only mention "feinting to kick the ball" and nothing about "stopping". Pretty sure they used to explicitly have something about "stopping".

Will be way down the news cycle today for obvious reasons but Reading effectively folded their women's team today (moving to amateur status and demotion from Tier 2 to Tier 5). They were a Premiership team until 2 seasons ago, I watched them a few times. Grim news and I fear this is what will also happen to the men's team in a few months as our cunt of an owner has no interest in either selling or investing.

Don't think this is enough of a change to improve performance.
