I've just switched on. Wtf?
-
• #170103
Tbf, penalty or no, they're still winning.
Also bonus points because it's Portugal, and even more bonus points because of Ronaldos expressions.

The Georgians look like little creatures of the forest.
-
• #170105
it's kind of wild how we (Portugal) managed to scam the whole world into believing we're a top team
even more wild is how we'll keep doing it and Benfica/Porto/Sporting will keep selling average players to the Premier League for absurd sums of money

And the entire nation of fucking Hungary.
Ah, so Georgia winning fucks up the fascist cunts? Things have just gone from wonderful to awesome.

Great big beautiful cross of St George vibes
-
• #170108
Forgot you’re such a dick tbh.

• #170109
Stalin was a Georgian. He'd have shot the team and sent the supporters to the Gulag for leaving Russia.
-
• #170110
Needless to say I'm cheering Georgia on.
-
• #170111
Fair play to Portugal though,
they haven’t given up
so many chances -
• #170112
Wow, not bad for a rugby nation
-
• #170113
Thank fuck the tour starts on Saturday.

• #170114
England heading home Sunday..
don’t feel so down -
• #170115
The red card...was that a Czech attacking a Georgian because the Czechs have been knocked out?
-
• #170116
One thing Southgate seems to be pretty good at is securing the softest possible draw. I guess if we manage to sneak past Slovakia presumably we'll lose to Italy in the quarters.

• #170117
Lolling hard at Portugal. One of the cuntier sides in the tournament (if not the cuntiest, given the Ronaldo factor). Nice to see them get turned over by a minnow.

• #170118
And is this the lowest standard of football at a major tournament. Or just that it's more competitive?
Feels that there's no outstanding teams and only a couple of half-good ones. Most decent moments have come from your Georgias and your Austrias.
Maybe it'll explode into a feast of exciting football in the next round. -

This.
An Austria-Georgia final it is.

I think it's two fold.
1- the 'minnows' are better than they've ever been. They all have at least a few really good talents as footballs opened up.
2- the 'big teams' have so many players scattered that they don't really work as tactical units anymore. They're all used to such different systems that they don't click like they used to.
-
• #170122
I'd say it's more the pep effect.play the system, stifle the game and work for the win.
-
• #170123
I think turkey and spain need a honerable mention. They have been good
-
• #170124
Spain look pretty sharp. Never convinced by Unai Simon in goal but not sure there’s the quality in this tournament for it to matter too much. Agree with villa-ru that there aren’t really any obvious stand out teams.

I’d say that more to do with how open Athletic play than him as a GK? They tend to play on the break a bit more and as a result he takes more risks in his passing. If I had Iñaki Williams on my team I’d try to get from A to B as quick as possible too.
