brilliant match today, once again two of europes best teams went head to head played out a fantastic bit of football.
I mean, West Ham v Burnley was entertaining but this is going a bit far.
West Ham fans did keep singing about them being champions of Europe though. They're an entertainingly angry fan base

Ha yeah definitely. I went to the first home game Vs Brighton a few years ago.
I was using someone else's ticket, and the happy hammers were 0-3 down at half time. If you wanted to avoid the rush on the trains, you'd stay until full time.
I think this was a bit after moving into the London stadium

Let them have their flowers, but it's not over yet and they know it. Unai won't stand for that kind of performance. My money is on us tearing Ajax a new arsehole on Thursday.

The way Ajax are playing this season, I don't think there's a big return on that outcome.

Shit game. Not a red, but SJM left himself open to that - especially in front of their bench. Will he a big miss for 3 games on top of the other injuries.
Definitely not over yet. Unai needs to earn his corn for the next few weeks if we don't want the season to implode. -

Celtic - Livingston in the Scottish Cup today. Only ever going to be one winner and not exactly the biggest occasion but the Green Brigade were still giving it a fair go.

not every game has to have 10 goals, this was nail biting match knowing one mistake could end the game as a contest, make a title push all the more difficult, tense controlled football can be exciting with both teams playing to the peak of their abilities. world class players all over the pitch able to turn the game on it's head in an instant, or cancel each other out for the whole game...... one slip, one brain fart, one exceptional pass. i found it a great game because my team could theoretically be out of the title race with a loss, there were moments when we were over run and moments when we looked destined to take the lead. i loved it as a contest, would have loved it even more if we'd won 10 - 1 obvs.
i just thought it was a brilliant match with both teams playing great football throughout

I have to agree with Shay Given on the Doku MacAllister thing - not a pen.
looked like a cracking game though from the highlights on MOTD2. really enjoying this 3 horse race from my neutral perspective. still fancy City though

his foot was way lower than morgan gibbs white in the forest game and that was over looked.
gibbs white came in at speed at head height between three liverpool players
you need to draw blood to get a decision these days -

Should we be calling for the game to be replayed?
-
• #167962
not sure i could sit through that again, i don't have any finger nails left to bite this morning.
over to city and arse to see who wants it the most -

Gonna be a hell of a fixture pile-up for LFC if so.

Random one, when did penalties start counting as regular goals in the charts (like top scorerer etc).
Thought they always put them in brackets after. E.g 10 (2) for 10 open play goals and two penalties?
-
• #167965
A goal is a goal, no? Doesn’t matter how it’s scored for the top scorer charts afaik.
(Unless of course it’s scored against Liverpool, as then the legitimacy of it is dubious).
-
• #167966
They dropped that in about 1998, but I think even in that scenario 10 represented the total number of goals, with 8 open play and 2 pens.

Arsenal want it the most which means city win the game. Liverpool win the division

Took my boy to his first away game on Saturday.
His unbeaten record is over, in such a horrible way. He didn't mind too much but it ruined the rest of the day out for me, and lots of yesterday too.

Which game was it? Are you an Ipswich fan? Can’t remember sorry.
-
• #167970
Or it's scored by Liverpool, so it means more. I think that equates to approx 1.15 regular goals.
-
• #167971
Yep.
Thought we'd managed to win ugly and professionally without playing well. Then by the 97th minute I'd just about reconciled myself to a disappointing draw. Then in the 99th minute...

oh the irony / coincidence of choosing those three digits 115 above !! ^^
pep and klopp reminiscing on their days in british football, top quality squires today

Great goal from arsenal that. Odegarrd channeling his inner KdB with that pass, and superb finish from Trossard.

we deserve penalties

Pepe winning penalty come on!
Villa were so poor but reading some nonsense about how great Spurs were, dominating the match, a triumph of Angeball etc - this does not compute with Spurs having no first half shots then facing two sharpish chances in the first 5 minutes of the second half when they capitalised in rank Villa play to score twice in 3 minutes. Add in that they didn’t add to the score against 10 men for 25 minutes until the 10 minutes added when Villa had, unacceptably, given up.
Obviously disappointed with the poor performance as much as the result but the smoke being blown up the Spurs arse (and the ‘Big Ange’ love in) is rather grating.
