FFS chelsea are so shit. A collection of expensive individuals. Well played Everton who showed bite and a whole team ethos.

What goes on in the head of Christian Romero?
-

Clearly there is no synapse connecting the part of his brain that proposes actions and the part that is meant to calculate consequences.

Good week to be a Fulham Fan - 13 goals in three games - Goal difference back to 0

I am daring myself to unignore this thread as I have a question about this sport about which I have little knowledge.
My nephews would like a football goal to go in their garden? Who makes a decent one that will last a few years as it seems that theirs tend to only last 2-3 years before breaking.

Hard to go wrong with something from Decathlon.

...tend to only last 2-3 years before breaking.
IME (having two kids who play grassroots level and been involved with the coaching side of things) there are 2 kinds of goal:
1) Solid metal, sunk into the ground. These last forever*
2) Plastic**, can be assembled/disassembled. These inevitably fail at some point, probably within 2-3 years (even the relatively expensive ones).*ONO
**I know, I know, teh rulez... -

The plastic ones comically fall in half from one piledriver against the crossbar.

We’ve used lots of offerings from decathlon, how old are the kids? How big is the space?
-
• #167064
Space not an issue, three boys approx 8, 10, 13 yo
I am a terrible uncle and can’t remember their ages.
Largish garden.

these
https://www.decathlon.co.uk/p/medium-movable-steel-football-goal-blue-orange/_/R-p-304059Are the ones we used a lot when I did some small sided coaching (just standing and shouting or trying silly shots).
They make a solid goal, make a nice noise if you hit them, are easy to get up and get down, and importantly the ball will make a nice noise on the net and can nestle in the corner after a sublime Robbie Fowler/Romario impression. (Other role models are available) -
• #167066
They were sturdier/are sturdier than the lighter bendy pole offerings from decathlon.
But if there’s a bigger more stable version of the one I linked to and space is no issue….BIg problem with the bigger goal is adult will deffo fancy their chances and then embarrassment and potential injury are on the cards.

" Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has suggested that the Premier League giants were “lucky” in the summer after they missed out on Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia. Caicedo and Lavia were on Liverpool’s radar and they failed with a couple of offers for the Chelsea duo, who ended up joining Mauricio Pochettino’s side for around £173m combined. "

He was punched to the ground, then kicked repeatedly by multiple people so possibly. It could be part of his pain relief medication.

Went down a bit easily for me Brian.
Can’t complain about the result, Arsenal had plenty of chances. Well done Villa
