Something quite good about Thuram setting up a goal... 2nd generation player, playing alongside someone who may turn into an all-time great and on the Argentine side you've got Mac Allister supporting Messi. Nice balance.

I think the fact the stadiums are close together is a real bonus for the fans who also seem to have really enjoyed Qatar. The absence of alcohol and fans from Europe has also led to less crowd trouble imho but that may be due in part to Qatar policing policies. FIFA and Qatar now need to create the workers fund. There’s no footballing legacy in Qatar but perhaps another winter World Cup is a possibility along with encouragement for other countries to apply.
