Selling our souls/yentzing.
Kind of hope we get knocked out early so we don't have to get excited about the whole event. -

Everton recapturing the form that made last season such a blast. We look like a team in trouble, hard to reconcile the really competent performances with the past two weeks. Kinda glad we’ve got a break, tbh. Even though I’m telling myself I won’t watch any of the corrupt cup.
In other news, got my new kaiser 5s through and damn, I had forgotten how small Adidas come up. They should shape in time, but first few games might be a bit tight. Maybe should have bought a 9.5.

I got bequeathed some Mundial Team, finally understood what “they are like slippers”meant

Kangaroo leather on them IIRC. Did consider them when buying another pair but quite a bit pricier than the kaisers.

Reminds me I once walked into a charity shop and saw a woman at the counter buying a pair of copa mundial (which appeared to be brand spanking in the box) for a fiver. Could have wept. Probably not my size.

I’m totally in CSB territory, more brag than humble brag but it’s jogged memories do I’m leaning in.
I was working for a charity in Pakistan in the late 90s and was visiting someone for work. Top of his wardrobe was a pair of well seasoned Copa Mundial. Happened to have been left by the previous occupant and my size; I went home happy.
I subsequently wore them playing in the national stadium (ok, it was empty) and scored a penalty that was broadcast on TV.
I left Pakistan as a consequence if 9/11, leaving the Copa Mundial behind. I wonder what happened to them.
Loving that World Cup, Copa Mundial and Mundial Team remain classics

PS Another story but I bought a mint pair of first gen Predators at a street market in Yaounde, not sure if I ever got to use them

Surely you would have remembered the extra power and bend?

Season objective #1 achieved with 13 points, just one more position to make up for objective #2.

Ronaldo crying is a bit funny.

The playground level insults make it even more amusing. What an egotistical tit.
-
• #162817
That we’d get here was so predictable too, a player so driven by ego with a game based on strength and agility becoming a liability as he ages, who could possibly have foreseen that?

I thought he'd be gone after the spurs walkout, but surely he's toast now that he's directly criticizing Ten Hag
-
• #162819
good riddance to him. hope Portugal have a stinker of a WC too.
-
• #162820
The hilarious thing about Portugal's euros win was that they got markedly better as a team when he came off the pitch. It was like everyone just relaxed; "aaahh, we don't have to keep passing it to that tit any more".

Enjoyed the CSB, btw. Thankfully none of my football has ever been televised. In very not CSB news, I’ve cried off footy tonight. Strained something lifting my lad a couple of days ago so I’d rather try and properly recover. Feel like a very old man.

I can't get excited about it atm. Normally I'm v excited about a WC. Wall charts, sweepstakes and chucking a few bets on but nothing this time. I'm sure I'll watch but it's all a bit meh

It was with heavy sarcasm. I've never been more disinterested, right now I'm planning to watch a couple of the England games and that's it. We used to put flags up, get the children into it, but this time I don't want them into it.
He certainly made his point today! 10 goals in 14 games. Ridiculous he's not in the squad.
