Went up yesterday with a Spurs fan pal of mine and he couldn't believe how poor were in the final third. I think Gerrard is in over his head.

Both him and Lampard have been given jobs way above their competence since the beginning. They should be managing league 1 teams not premier league.
There are far better managers who should be given the same chances.

Yup - hard agree. Will be interesting to see in a few years where Lamps, Gerrard and say Terry are.
We've got a decent squad, including some outstanding youngsters - a proper manager would be achieving far more. -

Dyche has started to put himself in the shop window again. There is a proper tactical manager.
-
• #162106
Aye, but shit 1970s tactics.

Lampard I’d say was given a harder task than Gerrard. We were in absolute free fall when he took over and he just about did enough to keep us up. Villa had a poor run of results but a pretty decent squad all told. They have bags of goals in them (or at least they should have) we sold our best forward, might be selling the next best one and the only proper striker we have is injured. Still at least we’ve brought in 1-in-4 maupay.

I don’t think he’ll get a big job again after why he was fired
-
• #162109
Did I miss something? He was fired because he couldn’t keep Burnley up, no?
-
• #162110
He was caught doing lines in the boardroom after training.
-
• #162111
Lol, what a lad!
Since when did football have any sense of ethics? He’ll get another job soon enough.
-
• #162112
He’ll get another job but I would imagine a lot of the big teams would avoid the risk.

• #162113
Source?
Can't even find that rumour on Twitter.

Mate of mine is associated with the clubs youth setup. Can’t really say more than that.
Taps nose etc.

Parker sacked by Bournemouth
-
• #162117
Yep spares Gerrard the ignominy of being first PL manager of the season to get the bullet.
harsh on parker I think.
-
• #162118
I liked his cardigan costing him £4.58 per minute for the last match.
-
• #162119
Fair decision, for the cardigan alone.
-
• #162120
Really harsh.false economy too.
-
• #162121
I've heard the first two suggested but likelihood of either seems vanishingly small
-
• #162122
Will the big sam signal be superseded by the dyche signal this season?
-
• #162123
What does that look like, a rolled up £20 note?
-
• #162124
So did football weekly get Parker sacked 4 games into the season or was it the Thom Browne drip?
Is this the quickest sacking ever?
-
• #162125
‘kin ell. That’s pretty wild if true.
Poch - would be good for the Emi's.
Potter - though a tough sell to move now.
Someone who is proper tactical manager.
